  1. I've not had anything pulled so far... But I've been with them for years, back when they were trying to be an alternative to YouTube. Now that their focus has changed to industry professionals - I'm thinking they're looking for certain types of material, and so far, my content hasn't raised any flags. It's also very easy to fly under the radar, if you're not promoting things (I have video linking turned off, etc.). That being said, I also have everything I've uploaded saved in multiple places, so if necessary, it can be positioned elsewhere if needed. Finally, at some point, I'd like to donate the content to a university or library system that will manage it and make it available to the masses. Jim

  2. Here's a friendly reminder to my fellow YouTube posters. Just. Post. News. Now, as we saw with the Sloan account, sometimes newscasts and even opens get flagged, but they're still generally safe. However, anything not news, be it sporting events, soap operas, game shows, etc., are different animals. They're not public domain, and can easily get packaged together in this streaming world, whenever their parent company so chooses. What especially disappoints me right now is that even some reputable accounts that should know better are getting into posting full, non-news broadcasts. "But 24994J, these shows aren't available for public consumption." Too bad, that not a valid defense. Does it suck? Yes. Is it fair? Frankly, also yes. Their property, their rules. Don't want your account scrapped? Don't upload it. Period. Simple enough.

  3. I've gotten up to 100 videos re-uploaded to Internet Archive. Tons more coming as I wait for the appeal reply.

  4. I think it's important to point out Vimeo is designed for film & video industry professionals, filmmakers, etc. to showcase their work/portfolios. it wouldn't surprise me at all if they pulled such content from their platform.

  5. Seems like a contractual requirement of the LMA agreement or to fulfill some well-hidden public affairs remit as part of their license. It seems likely Spectrum also isn't happy to be carrying a Dabl station with main-channel two-digit carriage and asked them to air something local on that station. WHAM seems the closest that makes any sense and they already provide weather segments.

  7. Yesterday's weather was very close to home, literally, for ABC 33/40's James Spann, as one of the tornadoes damaged his house and property as he was on the air covering the storm. Meterologist Taylor Sarallo took over as Spann was able to check in with his wife Karen, who was able to shelter in their storm shelter, and is ok. https://abc3340.com/news/local/alabamas-chief-meteorologist-anchors-storm-coverage-as-a-tornado-bears-down-on-his-house Despite this news, he kept on covering the storm and thanked viewers for their concern, and told them to instead to help those in need who lost their houses and loved ones.

  8. I've split a bunch of material out of the Classic Video Thread to keep it for videos.

  9. Something to really think about in this world of streaming and whatnot. It really is hard when you get replies from fans of those shows or former contestants, yet a couple of years later the companies take 'em down. I hope that they establish a way to stream those old programs on an app, but my lips to God's ears.

  10. One problem with that: Brian Hutton Jr. is leaving WNCN for WTAE-TV/Pittsburgh very soon. https://www.timesonline.com/story/entertainment/2021/03/15/wtae-tv-names-pennsylvania-native-brian-hutton-jr-new-meteorologist/4712128001/

  11. At this point, I wouldn't assume much about it. CBS is still dealing with an internal struggle over direction. A lot of egos butting heads, post-merger. O&O graphics are likely a bit on the back burner, at this time.

  13. WCCO's weather graphics on their website now have this logo in the corner. Question of the day- preview of a new graphics package (that has a Scripps feel), or just a logo stamp on the maps?

  15. Because the Network is showing the Grammys. And some stations would use its weekday team to anchor after the awards.

  16. I'm going to say, don't hold your breath. I think I've said something on similar lines almost three years ago. When Quincy acquired the former sidecar stations KDLH & WISE from SagamoreHill. Pai just loosen the ownership limits and they didn't need the failed waiver. I wouldn't be surprised if they reverse the network switches. As you see almost 33 months later, the affiliation switches never occured. The CW is still on KDLH & WISE. CBS is still on the sub of KBJR. And NBC is still on the sub of WPTA. So what I'm saying is don't hold your breath if CBS stays on KVEO 23.2. Nexstar has both networks on the same spectrum. Why should move CBS back to 4.1 at this point? Sinclair has recently moved some Fox affiliates from the main channel on their sidecar stations to a sub of the parent station. And NPG has done the same in a couple of markets. Hearst carries MeTV in three of those markets (Birmingham [WVTM], Orlando [WESH] & Sacramento [KCRA]). And unlike Nexstar, Hearst is one of its strongest groups to carry the network. Unless they're trying to fill those other diginets (that's not cleared in those markets), it would be a shame if they move the network away from the Hearst subs to these LPs (should they light them up). I should also point out regarding Weigel's previous HC2 transaction, Weigel will start carrying MeTV to KAZD 55.1 & KYAZ 51.1 at 4am/CT Monday morning.
