  1. Let’s not also forget WTVQ is also the station that hired Erica Bivens not long after she and Chelsea Ambriz were fired after they came to blows in public during their time at WSAZ. (Ambriz, meanwhile, is doing well over at WeatherNation)

  2. The fact that a group package is coming has already been established. There's supposedly been pushback in terms of the logo proportions, but everyone will be adopting the new logo. That's non-negotiable.

  3. I'm bumping this thread to show the Fox Sports score bug for the Field of Dreams game.

  4. I wonder how non-O/O's will be affected. Currently KLTV and KTRE have network logos but they are tiny in comparison to the channel number, and not really graphically current compared to what comes from ABC directly. Here's what each station has had up to now.

  6. I'm actually a huge fan of that show. It's very refreshing compared to a most of the (advertorial) non-news stuff local stations tend to put out these days, and very underrated. For as much slack as I give Morris, I'm actually glad they took a chance on Lee and let him and Hayley make a comeback because a lot of other groups wouldn't have. I personally feel like he made an honest mistake. But at the same time, WTVQ is a better fit for the two. WLEX used to be a more lighthearted station under Cordillera - serious when they needed to be but they didn't take themselves too seriously either. The culture of LEX 18 is definitely changing under Scripps into a much more hard news-focused station and I just think it all happened for a reason. And yes, all but one of the Morris stations are currently or will carry it by the fall season. For unknown reasons, WDEF is the lone holdout. Guess they feel an hour and a half of Judge Judy from 4-5:30pm is a better use of time (I'm stunned they finally added a 5:30pm show though. In 2021). Gray's WBKO-DT2 in Bowling Green carries it as well.

  7. Last night, Natalie specific said Chuck had the night off. With 45+ years of service, he has a lot of vacation time now.

  9. I could fully see WDKY overtaking them over the years.

  10. They get shredded in ratings anyway though by WKYT and WLEX.

  11. Oh, the logo wiki has gotten out of control, in regards to station logos. Some buffoons have poorly recreated KABC and KGO's current logos, too, and they clearly have no clue what they're doing. https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/KABC-TV#2013.E2.80.93present https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/KGO-TV#2013.E2.80.93present https://logos.fandom.com/wiki/KGO-TV#1996.E2.80.932003

  12. Mamma-Mia, that’s a spicy meat-a-ball! From their FB page. I don’t mind the new logo but that color combo is rough

  13. Am I one of the select few that actually likes the new ABC logo? Well, at least the ring-bordered version for regular programming (in contrast to the dark blue version for news programming; it does not fit the World News Tonight graphics at all). Even though I think the glossy 2007 Start Here was the best from my perspective.

  14. I disagree with the Public Posturing. Sinclair as per usual is being greedy, they're even greedier with Dish now than they were with the streammers over the RSNs. Let's face it, without needed to show proof. Dish is essentially telling Sinclair to go pound sand with their ridiculousness. Dish isn't the only one to have had problems with Sinclair nor is this the first time Dish and Sinclair RSNs had problems (although the RSN side occured just before Sinclair could takeover the RSN assets), many of the streamers have had problems with Sinclair, which that's been well documented in this thread already, therefore I don't need to show you or anyone else "proof" of anything.

  15. Well let's look at their peers, Nexstar isn't commanding that much, Hearst isn't commanding that much, not one single media company that owns the local stations is commanding as much as what Sinclair wants to charge Dish. I'm sure Sinclair is factoring in the Bally RSNs to the what the fees would cost

  17. I had said earlier that this was about to happen but didn't want to post about it until I saw the promo. KPXJ is doing a 3pm newscast beginning on the 16th. Alex Anderson will anchor, Joe Haynes will be on weather and Julie Parr will handle the Texarkana reports along with additional reports chiefly from Brandy Campbell. Anderson also anchors at 4pm and does sports at 6, 9 and 10.

  18. Glad to hear there’s push back on the proportions. Hopefully the stations can keep their current proportions. I imagine that for most stations — both the owned group and affiliates — the logo proportions would be a huge and unnecessary burden on top of swapping in the new logo on all their on-air products.

  19. Pure speculation here but the fact that the O&Os haven't implemented it yet makes me think that either a group graphics package is coming, or that at the very least individual stations don't think it's worth implementing.

  20. What's your source for saying this companies aren't commanding that much? That information isn't public knowledge. Of course Sinclair is including the RSNs, that's what the dispute is about. Take those out of the ex m equation, since they cost distributors more than local stations. Is what Sinclair is asking for the locals in line with what other companies are charging? No one knows. This is all public posturing. Again, without any context we don't know if "nearly a billion dollars" (whatever that means) is easy too much to ask, including the RSNs, or not. That's my point.

  21. Perhaps that’s the future of WNBC having people anchor newscasts alone. Viewership isn’t what it’s supposed to be and the days of views getting used to teams like Chuck, Sue, Janice and Len I think are basically over. I don’t think you need two anchors at 11pm as it’s only a 35 minute newscast.
