  1. Sinclair has renewed affiliation agreements with Fox & NBC in 30 markets.

  2. The same with ABC; the window where they could have fled KDNL for anywhere else in St. Louis is officially closed. They don't renew that empty shell of a station, they simply end their relationship with that network. The era where the networks were able to strong-arm affiliates for proper terms/programming quality has passed. Also, NBC is stuck on the third or fourth place station in many of those Sinclair markets, and the few high-placing stations they do have are from old owners who never wanted anything to do with SBG but ended up with them under sketchy circumstances.

  3. The sad part is that NBC pretty much doesn't like Sinclair, but if they attempt to disaffiliate from these stations a la WHDH, it might cause massive confusion. So NBC is stuck with Sinclair.

  4. Good old WNEP. For all of the love the music gets across Northeastern and ALL of Central Pennsylvania... They still get the callers who can't stand when the lottery numbers come on...

  6. If they ever had a plan with Rick and a co-anchor at 11, it went out the window when Monica left.

  7. I'd be surprised if they kept Rick at 10. Not to call the 10 team the "b" squad", but I get the feeling they'd like to keep their "premiere" talent on the 11 and have a separate team they can highlight on the 10 (and give viewers another reason to flip over to 6 at 11). Plus, I would be surprised if Rick isn't also named to the 6pm once that time comes at the end of the year. If he does drop the 10, the question would be- who gets the 10? Taff has already been shifted off to earlier in the day. Bring Walter Perez to weeknights? Call up Gray Hall from weekend mornings?

  9. The morning team is on for 3 hours plus GMA cut-ins. Jim and Jackie do 2.5 hours each. Why shouldn’t he? That being said, wonder if Christie will factor in at all, either sliding in at 10pm, or at noon, with Brian going back to 10pm. I will say again color me shocked that they didn’t go with co-anchors at 11pm.

  10. Can we seriously stop with the guessing if she’s the permanent traffic anchor. Let’s wait until an official announcement is made before jumping to conclusions. Also for the record they also used the @Traffic4NY handle for Lauren as well.

  11. At least it wasn't something like this..... (which actually applies since this is how state routes are signed in Kentucky)

  12. Today was Julie Unruh's final newscast, and with the Arbery murder verdicts derailing the show, her tribute was moved to the very end of the noon hour, and the producers rightfully let the midday news run 4 minutes long to give a proper send-off. Ben Bradley delivered the retrospective, with cameos from Mark Suppelsa, ABC7's Paul Meincke, and Rod Blagojevich.

  15. Getting away from whatever this is... Jillian Mele, formerly of NBC10 and Fox News, was hired by channel 6 recently. Maybe that's where she'll go? Her Twitter bio just says "Journalist 6abc".
