They've come a long way from stretched Helvetica. This look so nice. -- Matt6 points

With the KDKA version of the graphics, I could do without the immense amounts of black and gold. The version everyone else is starting to use is fine enough.4 points

Exactly what I was thinking. He’s still on air so there’s no way for him to claim right now that they’re sidelining him. They can ask him to report from the field or any other studio as they please … I’m sure we’ll see a “Rob Marciano has departed ABC News and we thank him for his contributions to our organization” statement in the near future.3 points

Now that KDKA has joined the CBS collective, we are waiting for WJZ, KYW, WBZ, WBBM, and WCBS. Come to the collective guys. Resistance is futile lol.2 points

SI, itself a dying presence, writes about the slow death of the local sports anchor. https://www.si.com/media/2023/03/21/death-of-the-local-sports-anchor-daily-cover2 points

It appears from the reporting that network management decided the incident did not rise to the level of an immediately-terminable offense, but that GMA's EP is not allowing him in her studio. Her boss (i.e., Godwin) would obviously be aware of that and therefore approve of it. So I agree with others that once his contract is up, he's out.2 points

So these are all the post-Roseanne episodes? Given her departure, those episodes will probably be permanently separated and likely unseen, unless someone like Fox Nation picks them up. In the past, shows with fractured histories like Valerie and The Hogan Family have always maintained their continuity as a series, but it looks like the producers are seeking to keep The Conners permanently separated from the reboot and continuation of the old series that spawned it.2 points

Unless anything unflattering comes out, sounds like ABC is just fulfilling Marciano's contract with them, which means they'd probably not renew it. They literally found a replacement for him on GMA Weekend. The writing is on the wall.2 points

Wonder if this was the original plan and the anchors in the corner was temporary until they got lighting or something Great looking interview area, and the main anchor area has nice depth and warmth from the wood accents. They also add a sense of height with the columns extending beyond the frame of the shot. Nice job framing the area above the anchors with the lit headers though I'd love to see the '9 Oklahoma's Own' up there rather on the anchor desk2 points

I actually really like KDKA's version of the graphics, it combines extremely well the standardized package with the colors it's known for. This would've been a great example for the other affiliates to follow but I'm not sure if they also had signature color schemes.1 point

WJZ just debuted their new weather graphics package. I Imagine their full rebrand is coming within the next week or so, if not sooner1 point

With the graphics (and news branding) switch, KDKA is now the third station with the new weather graphics after WWJ and KCNC.1 point

I missed the open, but I like what I see. Even though they're not using the blue qand white. And they're still using "I'm (insert name) KDKA News1 point

Steve Wilkos will help more guests and throw more chairs as his talk show will charge on for a 17th season. https://deadline.com/2023/03/the-steve-wilkos-show-renewed-17th-season-1235304709/1 point

Yeah, this is much more likely; better to just run out the clock. And most likely, the harassed employee is a lot more important to GMA to retain rather than a guy who they can replace with a surplus of available talent who is drama-free.1 point

I think KDKA is trying to keep the KDKA News branding as long as they can. But, even thru know they are going to lose this fight, just like the early 2000s when they had to use the O&O style logo.1 point

I just saw a promo for “Talk Pittsburgh”, which premieres tomorrow at 3pm, and it shows the new KDKA callsign logo, which looks exactly like the one for KPIX. So, KDKA might be switching over to the new news branding tomorrow.1 point

I am hoping that WJZ doesn’t mess this up. They have deviated from most packages with their own music, which I do not like in the least.1 point

Nice!!! I think KDKA might be next. By early next month the latest. They might be trying to hold onto that KDKA-TV News name but I think I they know they’ve already lost that battle.1 point

I actually don’t mind the CBS NEWS PITTSBURGH Black Box. It blends well with the KDKA BOX0 points

I appreciate KDKA keeping their color scheme- SOMETHING to differentiate the standardized graphics locally.0 points

So far the only thing that has changed is their background of the city on the video wall on the set with the CBS Eye in the middle. I actually like it!0 points
