  1. To me I give credit to WPLG for trying something new but this just doesn't fit quite right.

  2. It’s doesn’t have the same recognition MCTYW does. WLS had numerous themes before News Series 2000 in the 90s, and they were only number 1 in the market for a few newscasts by just a hair against WGN. For WPVI, besides the short lived “Action News” theme, they have used MCTYW since 1973, and there are commercials from 1979 showing that MCTYW was already a favorite in Philly. Thats because WPVI has always been the number 1 station in the market by a long shot.

  3. I would expect he only keeps the 11 pm. Half an hour to prepare for CBSEN is too short.

  4. For all intents and purposes, stations that show MNT are essentially Independents.

  5. Another point that Fox doesn’t care about MyNetworkTV anymore. Put it into graveyard slot showing that they are on slow death.

  6. With NHL preseason getting underway, let’s get this thread underway. Victory+ is broadcasting its first-ever Dallas Stars game tonight.

  7. Joe Torres, Lee Goldberg, Sade Baderinwa, and Bill Ritter. 3/4ths of them work together every night. Joe handles weekends like a pro. However, they all came together yesterday for something special and you'll notice it here. Yesterday was Art Moore's last day as an ABC executive after a stellar 53-year-run at the network. You'll notice them four in front row here as LIVE with Kelly and Mark paid a toast and a tribute to the exec. before the end of their program. (For those who don't know or are stuck in a rut, WABC-TV New York produces the program and is distributed by their parent company Disney/ABC via their syndicated distributor, Disney-ABC Domestic Television.)

  8. I wish Chicagoans revolted the same way when WLS get rid of their iconic News Series 2000 theme.

  9. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DAEcN0mJ5e2/?igsh=MWs3dGFpZTM1bDl5cQ== Allen Devlin is joining WCBS as an anchor and reporter. He was most recently an anchor at WANF (Atlanta News First). It will be interesting to see which newscast(s) he anchors. I speculate that he could take Maurice’s spot at 5:00pm when Maurice moves to The CBS Evening News after the election.

  10. I wonder what new technology will be brought forward for the new KUSI set. Will they have a flat screen TV

  11. Heard that X came back accidentally on Wednesday and the courts in Brazil fined Elon Musk $920,000 for like a few hour return of the site.

  12. Came across this on Logopedia: Los Angeles area station KVME's 2012 ripoff of the late '90s/early '00s Hearst-Argyle camera graphics (specifically, the station ID)

  13. The good news is that this did happen and KICU picked up MyNet... for 3am-5am, which is the bad news. You might as well not even call them an affiliate of MNTV at this case, or even an O&O.

  14. I still think the '96 theme, especially the final version we hear at the end, would make a great breaking or election theme, co-existing with the legendary original version.

  15. WPLG was inconsistent in rolling out new everything (except for music). New set came first, then new opens, and just within the last week or so, new graphics. Now I'm not saying that's the right or wrong way to do, but WPLG was inconsistent. At least WSVN's new everything back in 2015 launched everything new at the same time: new Newsplex at the time, new version of its music, new graphics, new opens, new everything. WPLG wasn't ready to launch everything obviously and it clearly showed over the last month or two.

  16. By comparison, is WABC's 10 AM newscast doing that much better than WCBS's 9AM? Cindy Hsu's noon debut! Glad to see her get this position. It also works out well because Chris & Mary probably come around 3:30AM, so having them alternate staying to/past 12:30 PM is a lot.

  17. Exactly- I would think Maurice would at least give up the 5pm to prepare for the evening news. That would be the perfect place for Cindy if they went that route, or Dick Brennan if they wanted to (re) promote him.

  18. In regards to WCCO (Minneapolis) & WJZ (Baltimore) as well, they're in markets where Drew airs on another station.

  19. Looks like just the 5pm is moving to the virtual studio. The other shows will still most likely be in the new KCAL copied set.
