1. I just hope and pray they don't bring that disgusting format to my state especially on the Texas Tegna stations.

 2. More changes at WMC Memphis: Meteorologist Andrew Kozak has seemed to indicate that he will be leaving the station by the end of the month. No additional details yet, however. Kozak was moved to weekends from the weekday 12/4PM shift a while back. Here is his Twitter post (see replies as well): Elsewhere, anchor Kendall Kirkham, who was also moved to weekends recently (from the weekday morning show), will now be anchoring weekend mornings for a little while instead of weekend evenings. She posted on Facebook that she hopes to have more news in the future as well. And Janeen Gordon has announced that she will no longer be anchoring the station's weekday morning 4:30AM newscast, although she will remain on-air from 5-8:30AM as traffic tracker. She, too, posted that she has "more to come."

 3. I'll just bet that by the end of the year Mark High-Man will quit Sinclair because he's now playing second banana to the big bad Boris, and maybe head to The Trump Channel (formerly Fox News).

 4. Weigel could do that. They've proven themselves great at running major network stations in addition to independents. Granted, WDJT and WBND aren't exactly #1, but you have to give them credit for not throwing in the towel or constantly shaking things up and relaunching constantly. Under them, KNLC would make a fine Fox or ABC affiliate.

 5. As I understand ratings at 13 have tanked in a lot of dayparts since TEGNA assumed control—so they may have nothing to lose trying this. A part of me hopes this isn’t the WTSP format, but the Next / KUSA format, which the promo feels more indicative of. That I’d watch.

 6. No new graphics for Blackhawks hockey. Still the same WGN Sports logo.

 8. As of today WMTW is back in the midday news business. The station cancelled its noontime broadcast a number of years ago to carry a succession of hourlong talk shows including Steve Harvey and, most recently, Wendy Williams. Access Hollywood (airing out-of-pattern) fills the second half-hour of the 12p-1p weekday block leading into The Chew. Tracy Sabol solo-anchored today's newscast; not sure if this is a permanent arrangement. Fun fact: The news of Hearst's purchase of WMTW first aired on one of their noon newscasts; I was in a Tweeter store at the time.

 9. Weigel making a play in the possibility that Sinclair is not allowed to have a triopoly with KTVI, KPLR and/or KDNL?

 14. I'm sure the folks over at WTKR and WAVY are thanking them. Though...you never know. With all the downbeat "if it bleeds, it leads" stories that usually topped, buffered and filled the shows when I lived there, maybe a WTSP/KXTV approach is exactly the sort of thing the market needs. Guess we'll find out when the ratings come...

 15. That would have been early enough where I wonder if One80 (who designed the original Hearst GFX) was willing to customize and syndicate it out to other non-competing stations before Hearst started mass-producing it for their stations. Certainly it was way more difficult to rip off entire looks like that in the mid 90s than it is today.

 16. I know I've posted this a couple of months ago but new pieces of graphics from Canal 13 in Buenos Aires have been uploaded recently on YouTube: These are commercials and promos seen overnight back in 2001, when the station was using some beautifully designed graphics mixing colored liquids and fire.

 17. I wonder whether Weigel has ever called Qunicy as to inquire as to whether WSJV was available as to possible return ABC to its original South Bend home and to full power status in Michiana. As for KNLC, aren't they a religious station at the moment? Would Weigel have to reprogram that station from scratch? In KAZA's case, this will finally put Pappas out of the TV business competely, moreover, it appears that they'll be sharing with KHTV-CD, which will warrant a COL change as the KHTV-CD signal does NOT reach Avalon.
