Agreed. The best parts of Good Morning America these days are when George has a political interview or discussion with a political or legal analyst. The rest of the content is either not news and, when it is, it’s so poorly produced and rushed that the package leaves you asking more questions than you had before the report started. Plus, Robin is off every Friday now and, some weeks, off other days as well. Michael Strahan — who does not belong as a co-anchor — is off Mondays during the NFL season. Except for George, there’s barely any consistency in the hosts. And, good lord, the set....

Most of what you listed is national programming, and will be seen everywhere. That was specifically discouraged in the initial post of this thread. Consider this an example of what not to post here, and a warning for all.

Doubt it! As long as GMA (and Today) can keep being profitable, then expect them maintain status quo or possibly double down.

Realistically speaking, Nexstar would have to purchase the assets of Morris Multimedia (owners of WDEF, a former Park/MG station pre-LIN merger) just to get into that market since Sinclair owns one station (WTVC) and manages two others (WDSI; WFLI), while Sarkes Tarzian (which Gray owns a partial stake in) owns the other (WRCB).

Only reason GMA is doing so well is because Today and CBS This Morning had epic shakeups. Otherwise, GMA is a hot mess. The main question being: WHY THE EFF DO THEY HAVE MICHAEL STRAHAN CONDUCT SERIOUS INTERVIEWS?!?

Huntsville is about 20 miles closer to Chattanooga than Knoxville is to Chattanooga. I know all of the Huntsville stations sent crews to Chattanooga for the 2016 school bus crash. As it was also mentioned above parts of Northeast Alabama can easily access Chattanooga stations much easier than they can Huntsville (despite it being in the HSV DMA).

Also since there is overlap in the coverage area of Northeast Alabama where DeKab and Jackson Counties in AL are officially assigned to Huntsville but can also pick up the Chattanooga stations both OTA as well as on Cable systems in that part of Northeast Alabama

If it’s big enough Huntsville will go.

What happens when there are no sister stations in the market though? For example, if something happened in Chattanooga...it's the one Tennessee market that Nexstar is not in.

Nexstar will probably leave KFOR alone for the most part. If they can leave stations like WFLA, WOOD and WAVY well enough alone, they should be able to leave KFOR well enough alone as well.

Yep they have found something that resonates with the audience for sure but the product is so horrible. GMA is a shell of its former self in the worst way.

I'm sure it has to be frustrating for him to have to do some of the tabloidish silly content on the show. I really liked the dynamic when it was Groege, Robin, Lara, Josh and Sam. It was still tabloidish but watchable. The show feels crowded and over the top now. I like Michael Strahan, but they should just keep him on sports and maybe entertainment. Have Robin & George at the forefront more, get more "intellectual" content like there was under Hartman, Lunden, Gibson and Sawyer, and bring back that relaxed vibe. But they're still #1, so they've found what works for them.

Nick is a news/traffic anchor, not a meteorologist. But gather 'round everyone, and let me tell you a story of the great mass email of 2019. All of our email addresses end in fox4kc --dot--com. Most are firstname.lastname - at - fox 4 kcdotcom. The assignment desk has "news" at fox4kc-dot--com. But those are just shadow email addresses. Under Tribune, we were logging into computers, workday, outlook, etc., with (username #2) at tribunemedia-dot-com. This week Nexstar began migrating our accounts to its servers. Now we corporate accounts that are (username #3) at nexstar-dot-tv. Unbeknownst to us, news --at--nexstar dot-tv is a mass email to all the newsrooms. No one had ever told us that. When you combine a sleepy, medicated employee, some confusion that already existed over which username to use, and throw in another account name to remember, then I'm surprised this didn't happen earlier. Ironically, we never received the mass email, because Nexstar had not added the Tribune newsrooms to that group yet. Basically what some of us are doing right now is: 1. Logging into computers using account #1 at tribunemedia... 2. Logging into outlook for email using account #2 at nexstar.... 3. ...so that we can send emails using accounts that end in fox4kc dot-com.... 4.. ...and some of us still have to log into the newsroom software using old wdaftv4--dot--com addresses. I can keep it all straight, but some co-workers cannot.

How she manages to land jobs is beyond me. One of the worst anchors I've seen in a big market.

Here is KDKA using the new CBS O&O Weather graphics. I think they look a lot like the Weather Graphics Sinclair has.

They DID give them a fresh new look almost three years ago and boy, do they need it (I live in the Richmond area, BTW). WRIC's current set - that was built by FX Design Group - has been around since 2016, debuted a new logo, dropped 615 Music's "Battery V.4" (aka "Always Worth Your Time") for Stephen Arnold's "Guardian" package and replaced the old Young graphics with the KOIN6 graphics. WRIC's set took top honors in NewscastStudio.com's 2016 Set of the Year - Fan Vote, and it was head-to-head against the set of - wait for it - VH1's "Martha & Snoop's Potluck Dinner Party". Not kidding. Fast forward to late last year (Nexstar era), WRIC has a new branding - "ABC 8", dropping the longtime brand of "TV-8" - and just a few months ago, WRIC has a new voiceover: Paul Turner.

Lester is the most stable force at NBC right now. Lester is respected not just for his work ethic but because he is not fool of himself and he is very professional. A majority of viewers in this country don't like a lot of news talent but Lester is still respected by a lot of people which is saying a lot. To me I think Lester would benefit on a versatile platform. I think evening news is very limiting and in my opinion what is killing evening news is commericals and watered down content. PBS Evening News is way superior news product and with no commericals they can inform the audience more in 30 minutes then commerical evening news. Cause news right now is not dependent on talent anymore. Mainstream news is in the gutter, and just a repeat of same old stories which insults your intelligence. Unless you are a partisan commentator, people don't care about news anchors anymore. Nobody cares about larger then life news anchors or hosts anymore. Lester is not the problem. To me he is only doing what he is told. An insider told me that after Brian Williams scandal, Andrew Lack is putting a tight leash on the evening news. NBC News is a bad news organzation and ran by immature management people. They seriously do need to overhaul the evening news content, same old news and people you see on MSNBC with their bias and they are on "netural" evening news is bad optics. I see Hallie Jackson with her Trump bashing on MSNBC and she shows up on evening news trying to act like a netural reporter. It is an insult and really a joke. The content is poor and the same old consumer stories of coffee being bad for you. How many times can you insult your viewers.

It would be an asinine move to ditch Lester just because NBC is #2. They’re still winning where it counts. The thought of replacing talent to cure these shows problems is also stupid because to me the shows don’t give a compelling reason to tune in anymore.
