If the worst-kept secret of Bill scaling back is true and coming soon, Sandra could slot in at 4 or 5 or wherever they chose, in addition to the noon. IF she's officially moving to weekdays, this is only the first step, as they plan for a post-Ritter future.

Does anyone know what time he first appears on the morning news?

Most CBS stations, especially the laggards, rate well at midday, post-Price is Right.

After some subtle signals in the last week or 2, the news is official. Chiaverini will be sports director, effective immediately. 5, 6 & 10, Monday thru Friday. (Paywalled article, but you get the gist.) https://www.chicagobusiness.com/marketing-media/ryan-chiaverini-named-abc7-lead-sports-anchor

ESPN has not modified their scoreboard, for the tournament, but the NBC regionals have. (As captured on WMAQ, tonight.)

If Cyle has an aircheck he'd like to upload, it can be placed here, but in the meantime, here's how it all came together, at debut.

Vince Gerasole is also on that playlist, but they didn't (yet) upload Tracy Townsend & Alita Guillen's appearances. Corey McPherrin also got a shoutout, as he's also married to 2's 11am producer.

For Halloween, here are some of the Ghosts of CBS News Past, in a playlist. I'll update, as more are posted...

Not great, not terrible. Reminds me of WPIX, in the L3 text weight & proportions. The waving flag next to the live bug is silly, but feels on-brand, in a hilarious way. The logo in the bug is way too big. The time rotates with the stock numbers. It is "cleaner," if uninspired.

MOST CBS indies. Sheesh.

We don't need updates to say that they're still in the outgoing studio.

Hey, remember when Jim Rosenfield supposedly did a tryout?

It's WFTX.

Nobody started a dedicated 2023-24 NHL/NBA thread? I'm shocked.

We would've posted if anything was official. So far, Ryan's been anchoring M-W, Dionne Th-Su, though he was on last Friday, as well. There's a job listing on their website for a sports anchor/reporter, but doesn't clarify if that person could be 3rd-string, 2nd, or even lead. With the current staff, I'm sure they're in no rush. Oh, and Schanowski has been doing more field reporting, in addition to his fill-in duties, but I'm sure that's until they can fill the vacancy.

I'll repeat was I said on the Discord server. It's from a promo package that's specifically being used for a climate series across the O&O's. These animations aren't likely coming from in-house, and the screenshot posted above looks like they put a WABC-shaped ABC7 in a KABC-shaped hole. I wouldn't necessarily see this as a sign of guaranteed change. This is how it's showing up on WLS, earlier this summer.

Not necessarily. The show didn't launch til Tuesday, and I don't think he was on on Monday, at all, this week.

My one gripe is that they're using 2 different extended fonts on the scorebar. The scores use a more traditional, Helvetica-ish font, while the down indicator pulls from the MNF word mark font set. I do wish the game clock was a more standard width option, or if they eliminated the line between the game and play clocks. It all just feels a bit crowded.

We don't need to cross-post everything about this. It is still INCREDIBLY early. Let's keep discussion here, instead of having the same conversation in 2 places.

Any Dani at all? She wasn't in the open. I'm assuming she's taken the weekend morning slot, and will only be on 3 days during the week. Safe assumption?
