  1. Absolutely correct. The main floor director for World News Tonight is often posting BTS shots of the person that'll hold fort at the desk when Muir or whoever is in the field. It's frequently either Nightline co-anchor or some correspondent, but the chair is warm.
  2. That WMAQ press release all but confirms that Evrod Cassimy has permanently moved to weekday mornings, and that they have no immediate replacement for him on weekend evenings. Seems like that's been a rotation of reporters, for the last several weeks.
  3. But is 7 even hiring? It seems like Stephanie Wade and Christian Piekos have things nailed down, at the moment.
  4. Michelle has posted some stuff that suggests it's permanent, but again, nothing more than hints. Excellent move, though, if it sticks.
  5. OP didn't ask when they moved to Washington. THIS studio space premiered Monday evening.
  6. Honestly, I don't know why the noon isn't anchored from Studio 32. A nice change of pace for what is (probably?) one of their better-rated newscasts, and it the bustling intersection at the peak of the workday as a backdrop adds a nice energy.
  7. Do we know what that 8pm show is even going to be? I wouldn't be remotely shocked if it winds up being a clip show of segments from 5 & 6.
  8. KTTV has 'Good Nite LA' at 11pm, and it's a live newscast. No morning clip show, just playing off the branding.
  9. On this day, 19 years ago.
  10. Since someone started one, let's keep set discussion over there.
  11. Fixed/added to that for you.
  12. I understand Garrett & Brown, but the omission of Dokoupil, Dickerson & Duthiers is a massive oversight, especially when names like Ling & Glor make your cut.
  13. Both of you, @Rusty Muck @The Frog, I don't want to hear anymore from either of you, tonight. The whole thread should not have to be locked because of this pissing match. Both of you have been around here long enough to know better. I'd appreciate if you both respected this request. Log off, cool off, and have a good evening.
  14. Yes, those lower thirds have been used for specials, but they originated on 20/20, with a red line instead of white, and that episode's salacious true crime title.
  15. Navarrete's small-market ability, yet anchoring weekdays in market #3 still boggles my mind. From what I saw of him anchoring mornings in Detroit, his talents are absolutely being wasted as a solo, weekend anchor. Not a Fazio lover, but he'd make more sense to go (back? don't remember if he made a stop there) to weekend evenings, send Cassimy to mornings, and send (/launch) Navarrete to weekend mornings (/into the sun).
  16. The Brant-Pete combo has easily become the best 1-2 punch in town, in severe weather, but that obviously has a shelf life. The remainder of 5's team either needs to get it together and get better, or they're gonna be in big trouble. I definitely agreed about the wonky nature of WGN's presentation. Without Skilling, that style loses its charm. At 2, Yeomans is GOOD. Been very impressed with him, so far. ZERO chemistry across WFLD's team makes it a hard watch. Of who was on-air, last night, 7's team (Cheryl, Larry & Phil) is the most established, and it shows. Good back-and-forth, covering the talking points quite well.
  17. Do we need to document other stations' line-ups in the thread of another, when one of those line-ups was already mentioned in that respective stations thread? Nah
  18. I only recently noticed the move, too, but the move was actually made all the way back in September. https://www.instagram.com/p/CxSqhfIOotk/
  19. It's just production music.
  20. The one in the 1st version of State Street was, and while the current one technically is, it's down most of the time, these days, unless larger set pieces need to be moved in and out if the interview set. Anchors going from one studio to another doesn't require a retraction.
  21. That definitely doesn't feel sustainable, but they can surely make it work for the rest of the summer. Wonder if the 10am hour gets axed, or does Jackie pick that up.
  22. Might we be seeing some customization and local flare in whatever is launching today? ✶✶✶✶
  23. Ignoring that right side monitor graphic, there are a lot of hints that the 2 dies this afternoon. All signage, verbal mentions, and guides make no reference to CBS 2 (News).
  24. Tegna owns dozens of stations. We don't need posts when every station makes the change. Lest we forget...
