  1. I mean, it's very well-known and established that the top 3 markets were unaffected.
  2. Not sure when the TV listing on their website was updated, but sure enough, CST is slotted at 9:30, which is a boneheaded move. They're airing their own Bears pregame before 7, Monday night, before the game on ABC/ESPN, and CST will be long over before the station-produced postgame airs. Feels so odd to air a sports wrap-up show before most prime/Central time games are over, but whatever. I'll stick to GN Sports. 1st & North remains on Tuesdays, and still no idea what The Chicago Report will be, but I see no Paris on Politics anywhere on the schedule. Meanwhile, it looks like the mistaken fluke addition of Chicago Now to the 10-noon schedule was simply premature, as it's back on the guide, come Monday.
  3. Handled...I think.
  4. All kidding aside, while I totally believe Nexstar is going to try and acquire more, let's keep the discussion to the Nexstar-Tegna deal. Anything else is pure speculation, and there are appropriate channels for that. Otherwise, we'll cross that bridge (CBS or whatever) when we get to it.
  5. On the other hand, they're bringing new content to air every night, in that 9:30 slot. They're going in-depth on sports and politics, depending on the night, which, in the case of the latter, is something WGN isn't doing. Also, 32 has never really had the same kind of long-form reporting that WGN has mastered to fill out that run time, so all that's really being lost is a longer sportscast, another weather update, and a bunch of Fox News wire stories. Personally, I'd hope for CST to be slotted at 10, because most evening games in Chicago just aren't going to be finished in time for a 9:30 broadcast.
  6. As a moderator "buddy," I'll tell BOTH of you to cool it. You gave your POVs, I'll trust you both to leave it at that. Feel free to continue contributing to the larger discussion, but no need to address each other, beyond this.
  7. People afflicted with and/or organizations that bring awareness to Multiple Sclerosis don't own the letters 'MS,' nor does Microsoft, Mississippi, or individuals with Masters of Science degrees.
  8. She debuted today. Nothing groundbreaking, just plugged her into the current opens.
  9. This is essentially what ABC was planning to do with Woodruff & Vargas 20 years ago. Rarely were they supposed to be in-studio together, but instead have one on assignment much of the time.
  10. Already established elsewhere that Elex is staying in LA.
  11. I'd lean no, but if Torres or Novarro are retiring in the next couple years, I guess it's possible. Why do I feel like I saw something that Elex is staying in California?
  12. So, you're saying Tia does both hours? Last time I thought to tune in, it was still Ponce & Cody.
  13. Looks like a time slot switch for their two streaming offerings, with Marcus & Brhett's What a Day moving from 2 to 3, and their Best of Morning News show getting a rebrand and adding an OTA broadcast. A little surprised that it's not What a Day getting the promotion, as it's a Chicago version of KTLA's Off the Clock B-team show.
  14. Oh no! A strongly-worded letter? That'll sway them.
  15. I broke off the Gray-Allen deal into it's own thread. More moving parts there that may not be as relevant to a day-to-day conversation like this.
  16. I broke this into it's own thread, as it evolves and we discuss approval and the potential politics of it.
  17. This is my problem. I have no issue with a national/international-focused show that deviates from the endless hours of local, but damn. It's uninspired and lazy, and setting themselves up for potential legal action if they don't tone down the ABC beef.
  18. Little public service announcement. Please don't report posts that you simply don't like. That's an abuse of the feature. Don't let it happen again, and I hope to not see anyone else report a certain post in this thread. No rules are being broken by having a differing opinion.
  19. All the 9-to-5 employees are in the building at midday, too. Why pay overtime to all the techs and such to keep them late or bring them in at 4am?
  20. If only there was an ongoing discussion about tha- oh, wait!
  21. I got confirmation that they're switching out the monitor bank behind home base for a seamless wall, the last of the O&Os to do so. They're still playing with the lighting, but the new larger green screen space in the secondary studio looks quite nice. The average viewer likely wouldn't notice.
  22. And? It's the summer. Sometimes people are on vacation. Sometimes all at the same time. Sometimes they're all on together.
  23. I think this leaves Cortopassi and probably Tahman Bradley as the last regular anchors who haven't anchored the show?
  24. That's the timeslot for GMA3. 1ET/12CT.
  25. Worth keeping in mind that Kimmel moved to the early slot when Leno & Letterman were still on. ABC was planning for the future, when it was clear those guys were sunsetting. What a world where the dopey fat guy from The Man Show is basically the elder statesman of late night.
