  1. It appears that Arctic Fox is the default for all newscasts, not just GDC.
  2. Remember, there's no rule saying you can't crop your pics before posting.
  3. There are faint rumblings that CBS might not-so-subtly push solo anchors for their stations' 6 & late newscasts. Kristine is already solo at 6, and if Maurice only stays on doing like 1 show or even just special correspondent, they could certain make her the singular, lead anchor.
  4. All 4 got opening billing, in Martha, Jon, Mary, Rachel order. Martha got the first lines & later interviewed Vance, while Jon interviewed Walz. They were seating in the middle of the 4. Kind of a 1A/1B arrangement.
  5. I mean, it all makes sense. Mike was live from Philly, so he handled most of the A-block, so Pedro solo at the station was adequate for the first part of the show. The 9/11 proceedings make having a bigger name on the show, with an absence, and remember, Bill anchored coverage at mid-morning.
  6. George is the main subject of Trump's lawsuit against the network. He probably literally can't lead political coverage with Trump involved. Headlines and stuff on GMA is different. As for Whit, he did anchor post-post-show coverage from the press room on ABC News Live. Didn't see much, as I switched to local news, but he was there. Also of note, Byron Pitts anchored Nightline from the site, later on.
  7. They did the preshow, too. They make sense, as they typically fill out the rest of the panel, though Scott is more often in the field.
  8. He merely suggested she be added as co-anchor with Marc. He's not breaking any news.
  9. New graphics for Sports Sunday. The outgoing look carried several design cues from the 2016 O&O graphics, so it's no surprise that this package draws a little from the 2021 look.
  10. They had a job listing for a long time for a sports producer role that implied the possible creation of a nightly program, so this could be a first step, like the reverse process of what WGN did.
  11. Never at the end of the shows, but they'll often turn the camera around if State Street is bustling after a show lets out, across the street. Typically a Saturday night thing.
  12. So, by chance, I and another forum member have obtained tickets for next week's Windy City Weekend. We're not anticipating any special access, like when I went a decade ago, and I doubt there will be any Q&A opportunities, BUT if there's anything anyone wants us to look out for or observe, let me know.
  13. Yeah, I know it's not 2006, anymore, but this idea of aggressively reassessing their streetside position is a little weird, to me. Two troublemakers in 18 years, a 17-year between incidents, and only 1 of them happening in an "anti-media" era. That's a great track record, considering some of the crazy crap that's happened outside of the Today Show, in a similar span of time. Cost and maintenance might be what sends them to another studio, but unless there are more incidents soon, I don't think safety will be the motivator.
  14. Compared to the People images, they've amped up the warm tones, for air. I really like it.
  15. They are not.
  16. Man, my initial screenshots sure are making the rounds. I've seen other clips and leaks from some theme/holiday weeks, and some added props and pieces definitely balance out the space better. This should look fantastic for CWOF.
  17. Speaking of retirees, NBC5 was promoting Carol Marin returning, but I never saw her (in what little I watched of their newscasts), and she hasn't shown up once in any of their post-convention team promos. Didn't see anything online, in passing, either.
  18. Today at Foooouuuuur...
  19. I mean, what's a veteran, anyway? Dorothy Tucker is still there, as well, and some, like Lauren Victory & Charlie De Mar, have been at the station 8 years, already. Just because many of the folks from your childhood are gone doesn't mean others haven't earned their keep.
  20. To order pizza & crank call the competitions' assignment desks.
  21. Damn, the city abbreviation font is rough. I'm pretty confident it's not, but that thin weight reminds me too much or an Arial/Helvetica type.
  22. D E S K
  23. Logopedia is both generally reliable, but VERY frequently unreliable.
  24. Void
  25. If we're just talking ABC, WLS dropped the remaining talent rejoins (just weekend evenings, by that point) early in the pandemic. There's evidence that they entertained bringing them back with the new graphics, but apparently opted out.
