  1. Humor me. What part of this is the new graphics, other than the fact that they're using the correct, current ABC?
  2. Based on the headlines, it's end of summer 1993.
  3. For reference:
  4. Bingo. Another feature of the live-rendered opens.
  5. Unfortunately, this is a problem on your end.
  6. ...and no mention of Roseanne?
  7. Soooooo, this is gonna be messy. Anyone can feel free to fill in the gaps, if and when you come across more info. Brian Jackson, returning home from KCPQ, will be A new co-anchor on Good Day Chicago, starting 1/22. ...with Natalie Bomke. ...and someone in the comments mentioned Terrence Lee moving to 4pm. Roseanne has been working the early shift, and the 7am trio has platooned the noon show, since Scott's promotion and Padilla's exit. No clue, at this point, what the plans are for Sylvia, Anita Blanton, Roseanne, Anthony, and I guess Tia Ewing, since she is the third wheel/Friday anchor at 4pm. Mike Caplan's welcome post for Brian: https://www.facebook.com/photo/?fbid=933921444766950&set=pb.100044473087792.-2207520000
  8. Not to get too off-track, but don't forget Bryant Gumbel's sports background, too.
  9. Not even kidding, first all-male, co-anchored, weeknight evening newscast on 7 in...at least 35 years? "The newsroom is calling the Bro Show." "All you need is a glass of scotch, and you're right back to the good ol' days." All that's missing is the circle 7 jackets.
  10. All of this week's GMA3s have been either clip shows or single-topic programs, all prerecorded, which is totally okay. Good for them. It's a light week. But really, not updating the news update with TODAY'S headlines is just bad.
  11. It's tangentially related. So much of the music changes and debranding efforts are coinciding with the graphics rollout. It won't last forever, and we'll get back to the graphics in no time.
  12. It was this guy... https://espnpressroom.com/us/bios/arda-ocal/
  13. For the record, her social bios state that she's a "meteorologist/reporter," so she is available to do anything for them.
  14. Fairly well-known. He was never quite "official" in the role, but served as weekend forecaster for the better part of a year, after Jim Ramsey's exit for DC, and before Andy Avalos was hired.
  15. This is confirmation enough for everyone. We don't need a station-by-station report on a peacock removal. From here on, said posts will be hidden. Let us know if a station hasn't changed, at all.
  16. BUT DAVID MUIR IS THE DEVIL! IT MUST BE HIS FAULT! The show was completely perfect and flawless with Diane Sawyer! Remember, David is also responsible for CBS's anchor instability, Nightly's shitty graphics, Fox's abuse lawsuits, CNN's inability to create a watchable morning show, NewsNation's non-existent ratings, and he destroyed the documents that prove Brian Williams was on that helicopter.
  17. They clearly find this to be a better way of doing the debrief/anchor toss that used to be exclusively at the anchor desk, which is largely saved for stories that benefit from some anchor-reporter crosstalk. They're never saying that the reporter is actually at the site of the story. Can't help it if a viewer is dumb enough to not understand the difference. It's really not that complicated.
  18. Thanks for mentioning it. I was gonna ask about that, too. I was in New York over the weekend, and watched maybe 5 minutes, but that was enough to see the talent rejoin for the weekend morning news. It was shot on the new set, so they're new, in that regard, but I don't know if they had them before.
  19. WITI reporter and Chicago-area native Brhett Vickery joins as morning traffic anchor. https://wgntv.com/community/news-releases/brhett-vickery-to-join-wgn-morning-news-as-traffic-reporter/
  20. I'm guessing it was a holiday staffing thing, not bothering to move furniture. I wouldn't think too much about it.
  21. Finally switching to the new logo, during a parade, 2 years after network's initial rebrand rollout isn't really a sign of anything.
  22. That change was made in September, when the syndication season began.
  23. I'm not dealing in fantasy line-ups. Sandra is 64. Joe is 60. They're not gonna be installed at the #1 team, just because of some precious belief that longtime co-anchors can't be broken up. But what about Sade? Keep her at 5 & 11, unless that evolves into something she doesn't want.
