  1. It's like Pop News and Heat Index had children.... And they're already being exploited! OTHO, I can enjoy more Michael (and less Lara) on the show. He's naturally bubbly and spontaneous and it works towards its favor. Why can't they make him official already?
  2. Except that Chew and GH are still doing great in their respective timeslots and it would be a foolish decision IMO to remove them. I'd rather stick with what's working for the network right now. But if it took back the 2pm hour and place some game shows there, that'd be a very cool idea. If you don't like them, fine. Wanting their demise for something new for the sake of it while many other people love/enjoy these shows though is not very cool.
  3. This is absolutely accurate. Many female anchors and reports all have the similar styles of dress--literally a dress. Their looks, dress style and demeanors on air make them vulnerable to creepos to contact with them in any way. And this was a thing years before social media became a way of life. And now that it is, it's even easier. And scarier. And the "you were asking for it" excuse is paper-thin, but sadly gives the sickos a leeway into the women they are following. These recent examples from KYW are just the tip of the iceberg, but are still alarming on their own. This needs to addressed in bigger places. The stations need to tone down the social media aspect for their employees, because another female anchor will get hurt if or even worse. And it can and will happen to male anchors too.
  4. The old team together again...even if for a little while. Wonderful.
  5. Lisa Thomas-Laury was one of the main reasons I always turned in to Action News when I was a kid. Her powerful and informative, yet warm caring and inviting tone of voice and class-act professionalism made her one of the best anchors and reporters, not only at the station but also in the market. I'm just as elated to see her retire. She's had one of the most astonishing and memorable careers in local TV news I've ever seen, and to see her end it on her terms is just wonderful. I wish her all the best in retirement.
  6. http://www.adweek.com/tvnewser/stephanie-ruhle-named-co-anchor-of-saturday-today-show/294144 Today is welcoming another from outside (this time it really is from outside). Former Bloomberg TV host Stephanie Ruhle is joining the weekend show as co-main anchor on Saturdays. She'll also host an hour weekdays on MSNBC.
  7. Good for him making such a homecoming return. Hope he lasts long and does very well again. Funnily enough, a few days ago I watched a TL Hughes video on the station's news opens and May was seen as an anchor for a few years (which I hadn't known about). I guess that's some type of foreshadowing in my mind.
  8. WABC has a messed-up mic flag that's almost falling apart and they still use that. I'm sure, had this happen, a little Krazy Glue will fix things.
  9. I Guess for now this makes him the Jack Benny of Philadelphia TV News. But seriously, this man is Philadelphia TV News personified. Always has been. Always is. Always will be. These 39 (& more for sure) years prove it.
  10. I hope so; I'm starting to dislike the current set. And despise the L3s. I just hope this next package will be better. We don't want another disaster with an ABC O&Os new graphics after what happened with WABC. I'm still recovering.
  11. What is that? That looks much more at home on Fox 29. The last logo looks and works much better to promote/use it. (Although I kinda do like the font used.)
  12. Everyone hates the new WABC Eyewitness News graphics. "Monstrosity", "disgusting" and "PowerPoint" are just a few keywords in some opinions.
  13. That's literally impossible. Not all viewers are old and decrepit. I'm not even in my thirties, and I'm still watching.
  14. Aww man, that was my childhood. But I'm happy to still have something to watch on the 4th. Honestly, I wouldn't mind it at all. As much as I love Action News, WCAU has definitely improved in the past several years in all parts of its news input, and I really like what's being shown. If anything, I'd help them brag across the Internet that they're number 1 If I wanted if/when this happen.
  15. Apparently they go berserk for nostalgia of technology. Censorship be damned.
  16. You know what would also be great? If Sheinelle would be there too. The show was the local powerhouse it deserved to be thanks to the pairing of her and Mike. I know Donya Archer was awesome to you all, but since I was a kid when she was co-anchor-and can't remember much about her then, Sheinelle was awesome to me.
  17. I think that's because TM makes it a given thing not to have weather segments (at least especially during weekdays) (unless of a severe national disaster-- snowstorms, El Ninos, hurricanes, what have you. But that would be awesome, though.
  18. It's about time. The current(-but-not-for-long) set clearly aged terribly after all these years. I loved it when it debuted, but after all this time, I've wished for it to be gone ever since. Agreed. Their's aged even worse.
  19. Thus wasn't mentioned earlier but Soledad O'Brien is filling in for Gayle this week. I think she's doing a great job.
  20. Just so you know, I was being sarcastic in the first part. I can understand if you didn't read it that way.
  21. Usually I don't care much for DWTS (sometimes I do watch it), but I find this highly interesting. A personality on an ABC show competing on another ABC show. Seems like synergy at the highest (and obnoxious) level. (Maybe Jimmy Kimmel could be next) But I really like Ginger and think she's a perfectly nice and bubbly person, so I think I'd watch to see how she does. Me neither. I think during her stint in competition she does either a day doing weather in LA, or stays in New York before commuting to LA to continue competing. Also, many other competitors have also done a commuting schedule from other places while competing on the show. It's grueling, but it happens.
  22. LITTON IS TAKING OVER SATURDAY MORNINGS, and it's scary. The More You Know
  23. I admit, I don't watch regularly anymore, but I'm glad I don't. I miss Nicolle and Rosie Perez. They were really good as co-hosts and truly had potential. Thanks to to drama and disasters from backstage, we'll never see that. IMO, hiring Raven-Symone and Michelle is a huge mistake, as shown with the controversial moments both of them have shown. Clearly, Raven can't say something constructed and sensical and Michelle can't say something worth following or funny. They have made some inroads with bringing Joy back and hiring Sara, Candace and Paula, along with some of the contributors, but The View isn't what it used to be. I wish the producers luck in continually finding strong consistency and likability in this group, but for now (at least until the Fall), I won't see myself as a regular View-er.
  24. Can we not do this, please? Robin is the most beloved on the main team, and it never crossed anyone's mind on the staff and this forum on whether or not she would leave. No one wants to say anything here until the time she makes it official.
  25. Wow. Awesome. Father and son together in Market 1. Maybe some crossovers with the network in the near future? That'll be a great sight.
