  1. From Monday's Newsblues.com

Drew Soicher, the longtime sports anchor at Tegna's top-rated KUSA-9-NBC in Denver (Market #17) who left the station at the end of December when his contract wasn't renewed, has reportedly landed at Tegna's KPNX-12-NBC in Phoenix (Market #12), although his bio has not yet appeared on the station website.

  2. Remember when I said that it'll be a sad day in Atlanta when the Julianne Moore/Emma Stone of investigative reporters, Jodie Fleischer, leaves WSB for bigger and better things?

Well...the time has come. (at least we still have some great lookers over at Fox 5!)

Did you like Jodie for her looks or her good investigation stories? She clearly has done well in both areas, but she seem to come off with her hard shell.. 11Alive has some gals doing great investigation stories. Rebecca Lindstrom.

  3. WEWS has retooled its morning newscast by adding more reporters and less repetition with their stories. They're calling their morning reporters the "E-Team."

WOW how the mighty has fallen over on Euclid Ave...WTF wrong with TV5? 19 starting to look like the gold standard (cough cough) where WEWS-TV 5 held that title for decades.

  4. WXIA/Atlanta 11Alive & NBC coverage of Hurricane Andrew in 1992.

Many fixtures at 11Alive from the late Chuck Moore & Guy Sharpe. Jill Becker who retired in 2011, John Pruitt who worked for both WSB & WXIA, Terri Merryman, Johnny Beckman, Bruce Erion, Doug Evan now at rival WAGA. Chris Holcomb who now the main chief weatherman is still there. Plus NBC News

  5. I don't care about any of that stuff. What I care about is that the first picture showing a 2/3 empty Washington Mall is what started this controversy, the media gets called on it and on Monday they are still going with that patently false picture.

You have two pictures where one has alot of people and another picture doesn't have alot of people. So, what the problem, again? Anybody with eyeballs that not blind can see the difference if not one should go seek an eye doctor for glasses, or contacts or maybe an eye seeing dog. Don't understand why it was blown out of proportion, but The Leader of the Free World, said it was so. Oh yeah I forgot " The Alternative Facts" thing, what was I thinking & drinking? Hmmmm (damn you MI, PA, WI)

  6. No. Especially when you consider the Local branding has been largely dropped by all but WDIV in the group.

I wonder about that, because WDIV was the first station in the group chain to do the "Local" branding followed by the other stations in the group.

I was told that DIV and XYZ were dead heat in the ratings at the time. Some consultant came through and the suggestion was to rename it Local 4, and the next ratings period Channel 4 over took Channel 7 in the Detroit ratings.

  7. Kristyn Hartman moves from Dispatch-owned WBNS in Columbus to Scripps owned WCPO in Cincinnati.

Kristyn leaves to go to WCPO where Yolanda, will start in July. I think Jerry Revish will retire in May, and by summertime Jeff Hogan/ Yolanda Harris will be the face on the evening news.

    Will Kristyn replace Carol Williams?

Carol is set to retire sometime this month from WCPO, and Kristyn, would start at WCPO sometime in April. Kristyn will probably anchor 5-6PM & 7PM
