I wasn't meaning to go there except to say there isn't as much to cover as there has been in areas that got out of hand. As uncomfortable as this fact is A riot would be good for ratings, probably very good. How has it been covered on 7 anyways (I haven't had any time to peek at it the last couple days).

These protests have been pretty gentle it seems... Good for the city... Not so good for sweeps.

Oh yeah.. That could certainly be a problem. Hopefully the protests die down a bit. On the bright side they don't have very far to go to get a live shot...

Shut the shades would be my guess... The protests don't sound out of control... Just distracting.

The year over years tell the story... Month to month isn't a good measure...

What's with the 360 camera link? 7 is starting to show signs of audience fatigue and also that it and 9 in part share an audience...

Troy does them on the weekend mornings. I meant 11am.. the Noon is gone. It was moved to 11am beginning in the early Fall.

Then they'd be dumping somebody else...

WDIV in Detroit has named Karen Drew anchor of their 4pm newscast effective next month. She replaces the retiring Ruth Spencer. Drew was the primary fill in for Spencer so this is a logical and expected move. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/karen-drew-named-anchor-at-wdiv/159177

CBS 2 just picked up Sandra Torres as a reporter from Wiegel Broadcasting owned CBS affiliate WDJT in Milwaukee where she was lead reporter. She also was a producer and co-anchor for the Weigel owned Telemundo affiliate in Milwaukee WYTU. She has previous experience in Chicago first at WSNS Telemundo Chicago where she was a reporter from 2007-2010 and then as a producer and writer for NBC 5 from 2010-2012 before she moved to Milwaukee. http://chicagoradioandmedia.com/news/7795-cbs-2-hires-sandra-torres-as-reporter

Perhaps... But lots of other stations make due with 1...

I don't know if it's neccesarily confirmation... But their style certainly is to use more than one for whatever purpose that serves...

You guys are getting a decent reporter... Not somebody I ran across much but from what I saw his work is very solid.

The Social Media on the revamped show amounted to 1 hit during the 6am hour. It's not so much telling as it is reverting to normal... WXYZ doesn't really push social media on the air outside of The NOW...

Anybody want a bowl of Scripps brand cereal? This is from WXYZ's brand new morning promo. The show is likely being converted back to a traditional 2 anchors with Weather and Traffic together format after having been expanded in April to include a live center and social media component... That conversion effort fell very very flat... I'll upload the full promo later...

I don't know of very many Scripps stations that replay during off hours... I've not run into doing so online either...

It was all over here earlier this year...

9 gets all its viewers from 7 and 2... How bout that... You just keep tellin 'em J...
