  1. They must be REALLY low to the ground at that desk. I don't think Jerry is much past 6 foot.
  2. Is Phil standing in that second shot?
  3. I wonder if it's a little awkward to try to do a full close on the temp set? You noted that it can be done but maybe not as well as somebody would like? Interesting to say the least.
  4. They aren't doing a full shot for the close?
  5. Tornado watches at this point...
  6. I get that they are trying to make her the Chief met (good heavens that frightening) but she's not so good folks are going to tune in just to see her. I don't get 7's obsession with promoting her as they slowly bleed viewers. I think 7 is starting to feel some pain and is trying to respond... I don't think this is the best way to do that though.
  7. Went to watch World News Tonight on WXYZ in Detroit and an "ABC-TV New York HD" test pattern ran from 630-7pm instead. Anybody else see anything like this tonight? There have been several people asking what was up on WXYZ's Facebook page but there's no response or explanation anywhere.
  8. The temporary set looks like something from 2000... It makes the SSS look new... WGN has a way better set... Not sure where your mom was coming from.
  9. First Alert don't cha know...
  10. She seems to have a way of pissing people off who understand the business or watch it from the outside.
  11. Maggie Carlo, a WGN/CLTV fill-in reporter and anchor since 2009 left the station at the beginning of August to pursue other stuff outside of TV.
  12. Chicago Radio and Media apparently doesn't like the let's get Cheryl Scott into every special phenomenon... From their write-up on the Air and Water Show special.
  13. Yuck... My bet is it'll go down in flames. Tyra Banks isn't the star she used to be I don't think.
  14. Apparently the hard news style The NOW they implemented here in Detroit in April is spreading. The "LIVE Center" was added here in April too though I don't know if they implanted it here first or not. Hard news is a far cry from what The NOW was supposed to be.
  15. What is gonna replace it again?
  16. Somebody should look closely at the air and water show logo they are using and see the 2014 underneath the name... Oops. Wrong logo.
  17. It's about time. Though it makes you wonder why they went to the trouble of changing the Duratrans around....
  18. New wallpaper for that set finally?
  19. We have a winner... Not sure what the prize is though...
  20. That's right... Selip was who I was thinking of... Thanks. I've seen pass overs like this end badly for organizations. We'll have to see how it works out. I'm surprised they would overlook the vet...
  21. He's an odd one...
  22. Cindy Patrasso, one of the co-creators of WCL resigned last week from her job as Supervising Producer of the show to focus on other areas in her career. If I remember right they had to get a new EP recently too?
  23. Former Bear Dan Hampton is joining the Bears pregame show and Final Word as an analyst. His first day on air is next Thursday before the Bears open the preseason with the Dolphins. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wfld-adds-super-bowl-champ-dan-hampton/153132
  24. Well 32 has a new morning EP (again): Dan Salamone who spent some time as WXYZ's new media and news directors in the late 90's and went to some smaller stations after he was demoted in Detroit. He wasn't very well liked here and he caused a lot of friction and unrest in the newsroom. We'll see how long he lasts as a morning EP. He was last the ND at WOIO in Cleveland until January this year. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wfld-names-dan-salamone-morning-show-ep/153066
  25. FOX News... We don't LEAN forward... We MOVE forward. If I remember right it was like that.
