  1. Apparently the hard news style The NOW they implemented here in Detroit in April is spreading. The "LIVE Center" was added here in April too though I don't know if they implanted it here first or not. Hard news is a far cry from what The NOW was supposed to be.
  2. What is gonna replace it again?
  3. Somebody should look closely at the air and water show logo they are using and see the 2014 underneath the name... Oops. Wrong logo.
  4. It's about time. Though it makes you wonder why they went to the trouble of changing the Duratrans around....
  5. New wallpaper for that set finally?
  6. We have a winner... Not sure what the prize is though...
  7. That's right... Selip was who I was thinking of... Thanks. I've seen pass overs like this end badly for organizations. We'll have to see how it works out. I'm surprised they would overlook the vet...
  8. He's an odd one...
  9. Cindy Patrasso, one of the co-creators of WCL resigned last week from her job as Supervising Producer of the show to focus on other areas in her career. If I remember right they had to get a new EP recently too?
  10. Former Bear Dan Hampton is joining the Bears pregame show and Final Word as an analyst. His first day on air is next Thursday before the Bears open the preseason with the Dolphins. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wfld-adds-super-bowl-champ-dan-hampton/153132
  11. Well 32 has a new morning EP (again): Dan Salamone who spent some time as WXYZ's new media and news directors in the late 90's and went to some smaller stations after he was demoted in Detroit. He wasn't very well liked here and he caused a lot of friction and unrest in the newsroom. We'll see how long he lasts as a morning EP. He was last the ND at WOIO in Cleveland until January this year. http://www.adweek.com/tvspy/wfld-names-dan-salamone-morning-show-ep/153066
  12. FOX News... We don't LEAN forward... We MOVE forward. If I remember right it was like that.
  13. In a few years 7online will look like a relic and it'll redirect in the meantime.
  14. Synergy...
  15. I'm gonna be really interested to see how he does. Thanks for the info too
  16. WXYZ has on Sunday's since January 2014.
  17. If you are in market 181 does that still count as TV we'd recognize? It's gotta be awful low budget and he must have a GREAT agent.
  18. She can play them like puppets at this point...
  19. Yesterday's storm coverage alert ended with "watch on ABC7!". I swear parts of WLS's offerings are beginning to deteriorate. First it was last Friday's garbage 10pm show and now yet another example of an immature alert this time during a serious situation.
  20. How about taking a page from FOX's book? NBC News. Short sweet and to the point. Other names are just gloss on the obvious fact that MSNBC is intricately tied to NBC News even if as I've noted before NBC dislikes MSNBC at times.
  21. Yes he did.
  22. Cheryl Burton is an odd one... But "Faith" seems pretty mundane as tatoos go... Their 10pm Friday night was extremely weak.
  23. WXYZ dumped it's duratrans in favor of a screen mounted in it's place. This allows them to change images behind the anchors on the fly. The image displayed is a smaller version of what the duratrans used to look like and the circle 7 logo no longer gets cut off. For the last 4 years only the bottom of the circle 7 was visible in a close-up 2 anchor shot. It is a horrifically calibrated set but this improves it somewhat: Here's an example of it changing images:
  24. Audrina Bigos is joining WBBM as a general assignment reporter from WCCB, the CW station in Charlotte, NC owned by Bahakel Communications.
  25. NBC 5 has begun sending push alerts nightly for their 10pm newscast the same way Channel 7 does.
