Every station is down too... And the death spiral for local news beats on...
-
Theirs... Your grammar last evening was flawless...
-
Typo time...

They didn't always have to recue on transitions before... WXYZ's would stay static and the text would simply change. We also have an all white lower third I haven't seen anywhere else... The tabs look bigger and the font on the lower line looks slightly different. I did like the new non recue lower third transitions. I'm glad the new VizRT system is capable of handling the package without overloading. The lens flare effect is original to the package. It's a matter of having it turned on or not...

Yeah I suspect it's not an actual van either... but the news van seems to have a way of getting around anyways... real or not... Note the "... Century News" van to the rear in a Fox News Channel type logo... Somebody had some spare money on that show I think...
-
My immediate redirect took me to WSYM in Lansing of all places despite the fact that I live less than 10 miles from WXYZ's studios...
-
Did an actual reporter get to hold that mic there in the second picture or is this just a mockup? The van isn't exactly equipped to do much of anything it doesn't look like...
-
Those are 10pm numbers so that's why you don't see 32 or WGN's 9pm for that matter...
-
7 is still in first in the overalls for October at 10pm: 7 = 7.6 5 = 6.6 2 = 2.8 9 = 2.3 5 edged out 7 in the 25-54 demo.

Did they cut their talent open?

I suspect that's what it is too... Trouble with automation at least over there seems to be a "set it and forget it" mentality as this happened a few weeks ago and filled the entire 630-7 block in place of WNT. That's pretty embarrassing...
-
The old number 9 is a relatively strange place anyways...
-
Huh? That's the same link... That article got some things wrong... Vaughn came to WXYZ from San Antonio. He had been there since 2007 when he left WDIV after a very short stint as their weekend anchor...
-
That's great... I'm gonna be sad to see him retire whenever that happens...
-
This is kind of different... The color bars popped up in between WXYZ's 7pm news and "The List"... Gotta love automation... The second picture is the end of "The NOW Detroit" from today... Looks like they modified an OTS box from the Scripps Sports graphics package and are using it as a coming up next box. This debuted today. Not a bad idea. Too bad most of the rest of the package doesn't look like that box...

Richard Roeper will no longer be contributing to Windy City Live effective immediately. Roeper is now the co-host of FOX 32's Good Day Chicago. He had been a WCL contributor since the show debuted in 2011.

Richard Roeper has joined WFLD as it's new co-host on Good Day Chicago from 7-10am. He's been signed to a 2 year deal and started this past Monday. http://chicagoradioandmedia.com/news/7739-richard-roeper-joins-fox-32-s-good-day-chicago-as-co-host

I'm sure the entire city of Chicago thanks him for dressing up... Virtual 7 day? That sounds cool...

I don't know about no nonsense, scaled back or simple but it was a cute little promo...
-
During the preview for the next episode of Nashville at the end of Wednesday's episode there was a WABC lower third with logo present on a DVR one of the characters was using. The "story" on the lower third was in canon for that show. Time and temp were turned off for the graphic. I just barely caught it as it flew by as I fast forwarded to my local 11pm newscast and managed to pause it. Pretty neat.
-
What do you and Jase think of saying our experience really comes into focus? It's a heck of a lot more commonly used then fore or forefront. Those promos are way overbuilt and stuffy. That's moldy oldy dinosaur style dry writing...

Don't feed the troll...

Graphics eventually....

I've seen the games on The U Too in the last couple years. I guess I mean it's nice to see them picking up the rights to something. Maybe they'll make mention of the wolves in the sportscasts as part of the deal (or is that already a thing? Its hard to know since ABC has the policy of not showing sports on it's station streams for whatever odd reason.)
-
Even if it is just the Wolves it's good to see 7 expand its sports coverage further. Even if it's only on 7.2. On a sports note while I'm thinking of it does 7 or anybody in Chicago make a big deal out of high school football on their late news (like extended highlights or something)?
