  1. Thanks for counting... For the sake of talents I'll accept the 42.
  2. I figured she was pregnant... She appears to have gained a lot of weight. How many talents does 7 have? It's gotta be over 40.
  3. Well the web stream turned on at a fashionably late 1026 tonight... Just in time to turn off again for sports.
  4. Well that's odd... Did you find the abc7ny one to be hard to read as far as the eyewitness news lettering went? I could barely read it.
  5. Ummm... Yes there is... Colors and gradients and some shape and size stuff.
  6. It all looks like MSNBC in the end.
  7. In the end they got it from a design company and not Louisville. They aren't all identical either.
  8. Interesting... They use lots of ABC News packages here and some Scripps national ones... If they've used Newsey ones I'd have no idea how to tell...
  9. Sub 1.0 total? Ellen is pretty darn popular on WDIV here and it's actually hurt The NOW because it gives First At 4 a big lead in which is something Dr. Oz just cannot do and neither could Meredith.
  10. The XYZ version is pretty much straight hard news and they are now promoting it counter to First At 4. "Breaking news NOW, Your latest forecast NOW" etc... It's an admiral job given the hand they were dealt. It's basically morphed into the anti-now and the open uses "You're watching 7 Action News" instead of mentioning the NOW at all in the VO. They saw it didn't work and ran as far away from it as Scripps let them. It's an earlier time clone of their O&O style 5pm. At some point it'll probably become 7 Action News at 4. Overall compared to version 1.0, the 2.0 version is a masterpiece. That's how horrific the first 6 months of this show were.
  11. Ours was like that too except they did a conventionally timed weathercast.
  12. When I clicked on WTVF it gave me their site with the WXYZ logo at the top. Of the other 2 one was blank and the other had a Scripps logo at the top. As for the NOW... It ranges from bad in some markets to actually pretty good in Detroit.
  13. That's an odd assumption when 75+ % of the viewers won't be watching... And that's a generous percentage... Reality probably said they were close to 32's level of viewers or worse. Most folks don't even know the .2 exists and saw a transition to nowhere...
  14. Stiff presentation with no flexibility to the bitter end...
  15. It might be your only chance... Post it
  16. And yet their stacked classic hits station was spared... Never mind that station is #1 at a 7.3... The cuts by CBS here were deep.
  17. Right I know the tag uses channel 7 but what about if they are promoting say Dancing With The Stars during a newscast as being later on ? Here we use just Channel 7 for promos like that during newscasts after say a story about it or something. Sometimes just 7.
  18. Which do they use more on air? ABC7 or Channel 7?
  19. It might alleviate it done if they said "here on channel 7 and also on abc7ny"... But even then it really needs the .com... The limitations of using abc7 or whatever network letters as a channel brand are being demonstrated right about now.
  20. Continuing coverage at a moments notice...
  21. I think you have that backwards... KGO, KTRK and WTVD differ from the website and only because it was taken by someone else first. Everything else on your list uses the same handle for website and twitter. It looks like the corporate mandate is to brand website and social media the same whenever possible. You forgot to list WLS as one of the ones that has the same handle for both as well.
  22. They still have "7Online" in the copyright. I agree though... It looks more like a station branding then a website. They are using abc7ny as a hashtag too.
  23. It's not so much that the Detroit market isn't growing -- it is, but it is growing at a very very slow rate. There hasn't been overall population loss in the metro area, it's just that the folks that lived in the city emptied out into the suburbs and nobody replaced them. So when you hear about Detroit and population loss it applies to the city proper and not the DMA.
  24. Was Cheryl Burton using a KABC mic flag?
  25. That kind of says something about the priorities of the time... Somehow I don't think frequent updates are in their wheelhouse.
