  1. Thank God! Otherwise, it would’ve been “TriangleProud.com” or “TriangleMatters.com”.
  2. Honestly, I want to read that logo as “17 WNCN” or “17 News”, but it beats “CBS North Carolina”.
  3. At some point it makes you wonder what Scripps' end game is in the industry. All this "hip and cool stuff" combined with weird decisions and little recent investment in the on air look makes you wonder what's going on.
  4. I'm surprised that with NW Arkansas being a split market, I'm surprised that no station has pulled a WSAZ and do two-city news.
  5. Halleluia!!!!!
  6. Even if I don't agree with Hyman's views, I still want to wish him the best recovery.
  7. Say hello to either Gannett, Scripps, Sinclair, or even Fox handing Angley a Brinks truck of cash!
  8. What about WJW use of Stephen Arnold's Fusion? Now that was a kick-ass theme.
  9. Meanwhile in Atlanta: http://www.wkyc.com/entertainment/television/former-cleveland-news-anchor-sharon-reed-responds-to-viewer-who-called-her-n-word/497343506
  10. Uh... https://www.washingtonpost.com/sports/colleges/woman-files-protective-order-against-oklahoma-rb-anderson/2017/12/04/6998c5f0-d95c-11e7-a241-0848315642d0_story.html Back on topic, seeing as how coke and booze was common in newsrooms, I wouldn't be surprised if sexual situations accompanied it too.
  11. Where I live in have Spectrum TV and Internet included with my rent but the TV is directly connected with locals in ClearQAM and 50 analog cable channels.
  12. Univision is off Verizon Fios: http://deadline.com/2017/10/univision-verizon-with-racial-bias-in-carriage-dispute-1202191683/
  13. Sh*t just got real between Spectrum and Viacom: https://www.google.com/amp/variety.com/2017/tv/news/viacom-charter-carriage-negotiations-1202587763/amp/
  14. Honestly, WGHP is definitely more valuable than WXLV/WMYV combined. It will depend on how comfortable they are with the status quo in the Triad and the same goes for St. Louis between KTVI/KPLR and KDNL. Back to WXII. Ever since WCWG entered into an agreement with WXII, Hearst has been pouring much needed resources into WCWG. I'd say the FCC should give it a go just on those grounds alone.
  15. Since I moved to Akron, I've decided to revamp myself and no longer am I YTownNewsGuy. I am now NEOMatrix.
  16. Not really a local retransmission issue but Spectrum has moved ALL Viacom channels to Gold or Digi Tier 2. http://www.wcpo.com/money/consumer/dont-waste-your-money/spongebob-other-viacom-shows-will-cost-you-more-on-spectrum-cable
  17. So the new TEGNA edict is to have "unusual" 11pm newscasts? Okay then.
  18. Yes. A Nexstar station. If you're talking about a certain channel 6, yeah they're a lost cause.
  19. Personally, I expect newscast output to be on WBFF levels, but as far as staffing, it will make the infamous WCBS 1996 massacre look tame.
  20. I wonder how much leeway WJW is going to get under Hunt Valley. It's not exactly in a Top 10 market, and it's in a "ethnic Democrat" market.
  21. Corporate Mandate = Every station has to do it whether it fits the market or not. Seriously, it's a miracle that WJAR is STILL number one in Providence.
  22. When you have a piss-poor lead-in like Jeopardy reruns, of course the ratings are going to be crap. They could've put Family Feud in the 9am hour to lead-in to the CBS game shows and have Rachael Ray at 3pm. Problem solved!
  23. Maybe only the NBC affiliates since Early Today is being run "live" at 3:30AM.
  24. Fixed!
  25. So WOIO is canning part of its newscast? Or all of it?
