  1. After 8 1/2 years at KOVR/KMAX doing mornings for both KOVR and Good Day Sacramento on KMAX, and 20 years in the business, Dina Kupfer has left the building for the last time. And, of course, she left in true Good Day style (IYKYK).
  2. It looks like Gray's WOIO/WUAB/WTCL/WOHZ is finally getting its wish. Come the end of next year, the quad group of stations will be leaving Reserve Square in Downtown Cleveland for suburban Independence at the Independence Technology Center. https://neo-trans.blog/2026/04/17/woio-wuab-wtcl-tv-seek-independence/?fbclid=IwdGRjcARPnDhjbGNrBE-brmV4dG4DYWVtAjExAHNydGMGYXBwX2lkDDM1MDY4NTUzMTcyOAABHr6nB7pGFhzpu-k1XgmpqxdZNpU_yq0XyKceKRwVOhwmjkLciuQdd319xpE7_aem_3kK5hEhiy9drtCWEwQ0VdA
  3. They don't. Except for Kaity Tong at WPIX, Eric Spillman at KTLA, a handful at WGN and others, nobody is safe, and even then those folks still may not be safe from Nexstar's upcoming cuts.
  4. Ikr? We have QVC, HSN (and their spin-offs), Gem Shopping Network, Shop LC, all those paid programming channels your cable/satellite provider likes to provide, etc.
  5. Pilar Pedraza has spent a big chunk of her career in Wichita, and has done the trifecta there... KSNW (2001-2006), KWCH (2012-2017), and KAKE (2018-2026; her longest stop there) plus bonus time at KPTS (2017-2024). But now, she's changing her scenery, for the first time in 25 years, from Kansas... to the Twin Cities as she joins KSTP/KSTC. https://bringmethenews.com/minnesota-lifestyle/kstps-latest-hire-is-award-winning-reporter-from-kansas
  6. This is not something you'd typically find on this forum but I thought its worth mentioning, nonetheless. QVC has filed for Chapter 11 Bankruptcy. It will stay on the air and continue operations while trying to restructure their massive $5.8 billion debt. They're hoping to get out of it within 90 days or by July 2026, whichever comes first. However, if it fails, QVC could end up going off air after 40 years on television and in the shopping business (first went on air November 24th, 1986). QVC2, QVC3, and QVC NOW would also force to go off air (yes, they have three spinoff channels). This also opens up the question as to what happens to HSN (and to a lesser extent, HSN2), their sister property (which went on air first before QVC on September 20th, 1982 in Pinellas County (home to St. Petersburg), Florida before going national on July 1st, 1985). https://www.audacy.com/kywnewsradio/news/local/qvc-bankruptcy
  7. I hate to bring up a year old threat but I have to because it looks like CBS Daytime is not changing anytime soon. Beyond The Gates is getting another two seasons on our TV sets. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/tv/tv-news/beyond-the-gates-renewed-through-season-4-cbs-1236565594/
  8. Yeah, I was gonna say. I think Out and About would be better suited for that.
  9. That's the minimal impact. The maximum impact is losing CPB and PBS losing member stations. Another example... Terre Haute/Vincennes' WVUT. They're dropping their PBS membership status on June 30th. https://www.tristatehomepage.com/news/vincennes-universitys-wvut-tv-to-end-pbs-affiliation/amp/
  10. Canada LIVE from New York, its Saturday Night! on CTV. For the the first time in decades, SNL is leaving Global in favor of CTV. EDIT: I read that it'll simulcast on both NBC and CTV, so I wonder what CTV will do with their 11pm news hour on Saturdays since they air local news at 11:30pm in three markets plus thr 11pm CTV National News. https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/business/digital/saturday-night-live-canada-1236562610/
  11. United Kingdom A new set for ITV News on Westcountry Television. It looks amazing and if that's what ITV's future regional news sets will look like, then I'll be intrigued as to how it will be interpreted everywhere else.
  12. This is the first MASN season that's completely and entirely Orioles-based, the way the team wanted. As a result, MASN has a new logo that eliminates any references to the Nationals and its blue shades.
  13. Here it is in action. GrayONE, Allan Peck VO now, and new set, but same branding and same longtime music (thankfully).
  14. With Craig Melvin going on vacation, Hoda and Savannah will be reunited all next week.
  15. The NBC chimes were born in Chicago. If you didn't know, now you know.
  16. A very bittersweet departure for a KSWB original. It was 18 years ago when KSWB launched its news department and Chrissy Russo came from XETV to help launch their morning news (5-9am at the time). Now, after all that time, including an ownership change, she has decided to retire and has left the building today. https://www.instagram.com/reel/DW9W7gmD70B/?igsh=MWxpdm1xbmpwbDJwZA==
  17. Today, Little Rock says goodbye to an Arkansas legend. Melinda Mayo is retiring today after nearly four decades on Arkansas television, first on KARK for 9 years, and then for the last 30 years on KATV, mainly on Daybreak. She's prioritizing her health as the reason for her retirement. EDIT: I forgot to mention this but Austin Burkes is her official replacement and will start in his new role on Monday.
  18. Another hour of weekday news on WUPA starting next Monday as the progression of its news expansion (just like WWJ) continues. CBS News Atlanta at 5:00 will soon come your way with Sharon Lawson (who already does the 6:00 and 11:00pm). https://tvnewscheck.com/journalism/article/wupa-expands-local-news-programming-with-launch-of-5pm-weekday-newscast/
  19. Tim Ezell has left KTVI St. Louis after 24 years to focus on his mental health and his family. The article says 28 years but its actually 24 because he stepped down the first time in 2014 and made his way back in 2018. https://www.google.com/amp/s/fox2now.com/news/missouri/tim-ezell-parts-ways-with-fox-2-to-focus-on-health-family/amp/
  20. We're waiting on you, 10TV...
  21. Scripps has filed for trademark status with the USPTO on March 23rd for... Shop Scripps. https://tsdr.uspto.gov/#caseNumber=99720000&caseSearchType=US_APPLICATION&caseType=DEFAULT&searchType=statusSearch
  22. We're getting another Scripps indie! Starting later this summer, thanks to a new multi-year deal with Scripps Sports for telecasts of the Nashville Predators, WNPX will become... The Spot - Nashville 28. https://tvnewscheck.com/programming/article/nashville-predators-scripps-sports-ink-multi-year-media-rights-deal/
  23. Jason Dunning is leaving Hearst station WBBH/WZVN for Hearst sister station WISN. https://www.wisn.com/article/meteorologist-jason-dunning-joins-wisn-12-news-on-weekday-mornings/70941465?utm_campaign=snd-autopilot&fbclid=IwY2xjawRBAtJleHRuA2FlbQIxMQBzcnRjBmFwcF9pZA80MDk5NjI2MjMwODU2MDkAAR5qHRyFbfGeOrfcjOh-FvhbFVkwxiX-y3JG_uPoP3iVWKEHpgXGUpIMrMWaOg_aem_q-7gu8Bt6RXnZR5eKnOxOA
  24. It may be a coincidence or not that the last three yet to switch to Pixel Lens are all CBS affiliates (WWL + sister WUPL, WBNS, and KYTX).
  25. Except its more fun and not so much news heavy or political-based. Anyways, unrelated to that... Michelle Meredith's sign off from WESH 2.
