Good thing Scripps isn't in Maine... They could easily go after them for naming rights

Lindsay Riley is new Chief Meteorologist at KPNX -- moved from mornings at WTTV
I'm kinda shocked by this... Wondering if they want to put her up against Amber Sullins at KNXV and Kristy Siefkin at KSAZ

Who is this Rob Ellis guy did they hire another weather dude
He came from WIS-TV in Columbia, SC -- he was also formerly from WISH-TV in Indy... Surprised to see him end up here...

Looks like Scripps is giving their L3's a slight makeover??? This was from WCPO in Cincinnati.

KNXV here in Phoenix has been doing this for months now...

When I watched this, I about choked on my dinner... Too long of an open... Just get to the damn news... Makes me want to start watching KSAZ again...

WXMI anchor Christian Frank leaving station October 20 to serve as Midwest Regional Director of a local furniture company... Sounds familiar...

Wow the 9-pack behind them is absolutely REVOLTING and just plain STUPID -- This is something from early to mid 2000s... For God's sake get rid of them

Seriously... Arial and all similar fonts should just be outlawed... It's outdated and just plain boring...

I like it -- makes me wonder if Nexstar is going to loosen up a bit on a more generalized group package?
-
The whole "Focused on family and community" line is clunky as hell but if they're gonna stick with it they should have that in the show opens instead of making the anchors say it.
Agreed.. They don't sound enthused about it... It's almost an afterthought the way the say it

I also wonder if KLFY will get updated graphics, since they are still using the graphics scheme from Young Broadcasting era...

This had to have happened on Tuesday. He was posting WIS weather updates until Wednesday. A complete 360 of riding bikes and a "Cashmeousside" to find out how the weather is. He also responded to someone and said he may be heading back to Indianapolis. I'm wondering what happened to cause this. It's just too strange.
Well here's a wee bit more info.. He's moving back to Indy due to a "long-distance relationship" and wants it to work out... He says he's got a few gigs here and there, but can't announce any "permanent" plans... This was via his Facebook page on March 17...

I finally got to see the Nexstar Media Group ID at the end of WOOD-TVs 6pm newscast... They have the Grand Rapids market dot totally in the wrong spot. They have it listed near Traverse City/Gaylord in the Northern Michigan area. It's like that on their website too... ugh...
-
My prediction is that the legacy Nexstar stations will switch to the LIN Digital design and graphics, but the ex-MG stations will adopt Nexstar domain names. We'll see how that plays out.
God I hope not.. their domain names are stupid and in some cases pathetically long... using the station call letters is easier to remember than patheticallylongandridiculousdomainnamefirst.com

Behind the scenes drama:
A hit list is out at WTSP/Channel 10 in St. Pete, it so high school over there in market #11.
https://www.ftvlive.com/sqsp-test/2017/3/9/the-tegna-hit-list
Something happened between Monday and whenever Robb's bio got taken down... I was trying to see if he had posted anything on his Facebook page and he was touting the WeatherFest 2017 and the WIS-TV green screen they were going to have there... That was posted on the 6th... Interesting...

Well, while they're at it.. If Sinclair does buyout Tribune, they can add WWMT and WXMI to South Bend... Make it a multi-state hub... In South Bend... Said no one ever...

Scripps - General Discussion
in Corporate Chat
Posted
I noticed this a while back and didn't really mention it... But found it odd that they were using 2 different graphics packages... It was bothering me quite a bit and glad they finally fixed it.. Let's hope that when the next update comes out that they fully transition smoothly...
