  1. Somebody in Scrippsland noticed that WXYZ largely still had the orange/reddish 2009 weather graphics (except the 7 day) 9 Years later. So they finally got with the program and got the yellow/blue/white 2012 standard weather graphics for their future cast and radar and such. Their 7 day also changed so instead of highs directly above lows it’s high-low-high-low in an up and down diagonal pattern that leaves the high and low offset from each other in each box. Still using the orange 2011 first alert logo modified with a Flat rather than glossy ABC logo. Wonder what took so long.

I noticed this a while back and didn't really mention it... But found it odd that they were using 2 different graphics packages... It was bothering me quite a bit and glad they finally fixed it.. Let's hope that when the next update comes out that they fully transition smoothly...

  2. Lindsay Riley is new Chief Meteorologist at KPNX -- moved from mornings at WTTV

I'm kinda shocked by this... Wondering if they want to put her up against Amber Sullins at KNXV and Kristy Siefkin at KSAZ

  3. The whole "Focused on family and community" line is clunky as hell but if they're gonna stick with it they should have that in the show opens instead of making the anchors say it.

Agreed.. They don't sound enthused about it... It's almost an afterthought the way the say it

  4. This had to have happened on Tuesday. He was posting WIS weather updates until Wednesday. A complete 360 of riding bikes and a "Cashmeousside" to find out how the weather is. He also responded to someone and said he may be heading back to Indianapolis. I'm wondering what happened to cause this. It's just too strange.

Well here's a wee bit more info.. He's moving back to Indy due to a "long-distance relationship" and wants it to work out... He says he's got a few gigs here and there, but can't announce any "permanent" plans... This was via his Facebook page on March 17...

  5. I finally got to see the Nexstar Media Group ID at the end of WOOD-TVs 6pm newscast... They have the Grand Rapids market dot totally in the wrong spot. They have it listed near Traverse City/Gaylord in the Northern Michigan area. It's like that on their website too... ugh...

  6. My prediction is that the legacy Nexstar stations will switch to the LIN Digital design and graphics, but the ex-MG stations will adopt Nexstar domain names. We'll see how that plays out.

God I hope not.. their domain names are stupid and in some cases pathetically long... using the station call letters is easier to remember than patheticallylongandridiculousdomainnamefirst.com

Something happened between Monday and whenever Robb's bio got taken down... I was trying to see if he had posted anything on his Facebook page and he was touting the WeatherFest 2017 and the WIS-TV green screen they were going to have there... That was posted on the 6th... Interesting...
