Noticed WSYM is using the meteorologists from sister station WXMI in Grand Rapids until they get the news department up and going...

Not sure if this should go here or the Graphics Knockoff thread...
Hubbard's WDIO in Duluth has a very close resemblance to the KOIN graphics.... Slight tweaks but definitely the motions are there.... Weather graphics are definitely the KOIN variety- 1

so many incomplete packages... if you're going to change one aspect of the packages, change all the damn parts... old and new NEVER mix and looks tacky as hell

CINCINNATI – The E.W. Scripps Company (NASDAQ: SSP) will expand its commitment to Michigan audiences early next year by producing its own local newscasts at WSYM, its Fox affiliate in Lansing.
The introduction of local news operations at WSYM builds on Scripps’ footprint across Michigan: its three markets reach approximately 81% of the state’s TV households. Scripps also owns WXYZ (ABC) and WMYD (MY Network) in Detroit and WXMI (Fox) in Grand Rapids. WSYM previously aired local news from WILX, the NBC affiliate in Lansing owned by Gray Television.

I'm glad... Lansing is big enough for them to support.. no need for outsourcing the news from WILX... Excited to see how this turns out

The one thing that bothers me, and is my Achilles heel with any graphics overhaul, is that WXMI STILL has some Tribune fonts in their weather segments... How hard is it to make sure that everything migrates over to the new graphics design?? It looks so tacky and awkward....

WWMT got the new graphics along with their new set today

How many stations are left?
WRTV (coming soon)
WLEX, KATC, WSYM, KOAA, KRIS, KERO, KSBY, KSTU, WTVR, WTKR, WXMI and KMTV.
Don't hold your breath on WSYM... It's owned by Scripps, but ran by Gray's WILX

Is this the first Scripps station in the new graphics package with a color logo on the open? Also they are still not using the new Scripps music on the copyright lighthouse tag. I assume that will be fixed soon. Honestly, I dont think the color logo looks good with this new look. Also, the L3 Time and Temp is hard to see when the image behind it is light. I know its a Saturday night, and I assume they will only enhance the package.
No.. KNXV uses their black and yellow logo on opens

I was just looking at the WQAD website I couldn't find the weather graphics that you're talking about, from what I saw they were still using the Tribune package for Weather.
I keep forgetting to update the Standard-Tegna situation so here's the follow-up on that.
In addition to filling the proxy statement, Standard has nominated 2 other people besides Deb McDermott and Larry Wert (which has been mentioned previously in this thread) they are Colleen Brown and Ellen McClain Haime.
So Standard General is continuing to put pressure on Tegna as more companies make offers for the 62 TV stations which puts Tegna in a situation that they can't get out of no matter what.
Go to the maps & radar section of the weather page... all the maps except the 7-day are tegna-fied
-
I am assuming that WQAD is next to be TEGNA-fied... Looking on their website tonight, even though on air, they have Tribune graphics, most of the weather maps online are TEGNA-fied
-
The only thing I'm not liking about the latest package/update is in the weather Upper 3rds... The Weather Logos aren't meshing well... especially those with that silvery border... looks out of place

WZDX Fox in Huntsville made the switch to the new website layout today and kept its, rocketcitynow.com address. This means, as far as I know, WATN in Memphis is the only one of the Nexstar purchase stations that still has not made the switch. I am sure it will be any day now.
WATN now has the new Tegna layout... kept the same localmemphis.com address. Surprisingly they kept the logo in tact, just made it linear..
New KOIN graphics?

Regardless, it's an improvement from their previous package
