I was just looking at the WQAD website I couldn't find the weather graphics that you're talking about, from what I saw they were still using the Tribune package for Weather.

I keep forgetting to update the Standard-Tegna situation so here's the follow-up on that.

In addition to filling the proxy statement, Standard has nominated 2 other people besides Deb McDermott and Larry Wert (which has been mentioned previously in this thread) they are Colleen Brown and Ellen McClain Haime.

So Standard General is continuing to put pressure on Tegna as more companies make offers for the 62 TV stations which puts Tegna in a situation that they can't get out of no matter what.

Go to the maps & radar section of the weather page... all the maps except the 7-day are tegna-fied

WZDX Fox in Huntsville made the switch to the new website layout today and kept its, rocketcitynow.com address. This means, as far as I know, WATN in Memphis is the only one of the Nexstar purchase stations that still has not made the switch. I am sure it will be any day now.

WATN now has the new Tegna layout... kept the same localmemphis.com address.  Surprisingly they kept the logo in tact, just made it linear..

I just wonder if Lansing, Michigan Scripps owned WSYM TV plan on getting the new scripps look, or will they be stuck with the clunky Gray look [Gray's lansing, michigan NBC station WILX TV produces FOX47NEWS]

Yeah being Gray operated, they will go with whatever Gray uses for WILX most likely when they update them...

  4. I wonder if KNXV here in Phoenix will get an updated logo... Since WMAR let go of their version, I don't think the black and yellow would look as good here...

    I wouldn't mind a variation of this 1995-97 logo:

  5. I am disappointed in the shades of blue chosen... But the music is awesome

    Also on a side note....

WXMI got the Scripps web layout yesterday -- but the logo is now missing the Fox Searchlights

  6. So I'm trying to find if this was mentioned someplace, but I can't see anything so I'll post here...

A while back, there was a discussion about how WISH had dropped the 24-hour news moniker... Well it now looks like WOOD is now dropping it as well... While watching the news today I noticed the reporters are now signing off as "Reporter Name, News 8" instead of "Reporter Name, 24-hour News 8".  Now granted their LL Bean jackets still show 24-hour News 8, but I do believe that the 24-hour news moniker is now gone... I am sad 😞

  7. I'm sure they'll move KASW to KNXV in due time.. I know where both stations are and it's a decent drive between the two... KASW is located at 7th St. and Missouri, while KNXV is at 44th st and Washington, near Loop 202.  Makes sense to condense it to KNXV

    the graphics in action

I don't like the "comment box" at all in the open It's placement is random. I also don't like the use of the comment box during the newscast either. A simple white rectangle would have been fine.

I also don't like the font they are using

overall this package is a good starting point. hopefully they can make some improvements before it's wider rollout

It's the same font Scripps and most stations are now/have been using: Proxima...  It's just a thinner version of it...

  9. I honestly think it's not half bad... Does it need work? Absolutely.  But so glad they only rolled it out to one market and a market that isn't major.  I applaud Scripps for choosing a smaller market to test this out in.  Let's hope the package improves as they roll out.  The music isn't bad either.
