  1. I noitced that KTVK/KPHO recently switched their weather branding to First Alert Weather... I also so see WGCL did too.. is this a requirement for the former Meredith stations?? I see WNEM has yet to change (and they can since it isn't used in the Flint market)

    Yay! Low standards.

The only reason I brought it up is we've seen many graphics/branding/set updates with various ABC stations and using that as a chance to switch it over and fail

Are all the CBS O&Os getting this "First Alert Action Day" look?

The following are conflicts of interest with NBC First Alert Branding:

    • KNBC/KCBS : Los Angeles
    • WBTS-NECN/WBZ : Boston
    • WCAU/KYW : Philadelphia
    • WTVJ/WFOR : Miami

  4. I think we can all agree that change is hard to accept, whether there's good intention or not... it's like the local grocery stores.  They're constantly remodeling, moving things around, etc... Everyone hates it, but eventually gets used to it or decides to go someplace else... I think this is a good example of that..

At 4:00 they were in the new studio. But still old FOX graphics and FOX46 branding. Maybe they did have last minute change of mind. We'll see. As for the studio, so far it has a big monitor wall behind the desk with what may be a live cam pic of the Charlotte skyline. Need to see a bit more.

I did notice during the weather segment that the radar and futurecast maps have the Lato font that the Nexstar Packages are using...

No, they didn't. The package they're using is 5 years old. They keep intermixing that with graphics from the 2013 package and the CBSN package. It's a branding mess. It shows your audience that you are unorganized and as it bleeds into the journalism, the audience senses that the stations aren't doing their best coverage.

gotcha -- would this explain why WFOR and WJW hasn't switched or "blended" what other stations have been using??

I wonder if WXMI Fox17 was hub in Indy when Tribune owned them and once they became a Scripps TV station moved to WRTV.

I think it be smart for WZPX to try and get the subs of Doozy & Defy on Charter Spectrum & Comcast even if it's .5 & .6 unless they move them to .2 & .3 move the double Katz networks down. I know Fox17 is adding Doozy & Defy as well you could put one them on the .2 and move Antenna TV kinda surprised their is no double that network since Nexstar owns Antenna TV.

Yes WXMI was hubbed with WXIN/WTTV until the switch to Scripps

WTVY is revamping their look on Thursday.  This includes a refreshed logo, new graphics and a refreshed set.

Graphics-wise, they have a similar package to the one that's about to be replaced at WSAZ, and their set is about a decade old, and is one of the standard-issue Gray ones from that era.

I'm sure any updates will also extend to WRGX, their low-powered NBC station.

Looks a lot like Nexstar's WIVB -- even the weather branding

Laura was at AccuWeather not Weather Nation. Also she was at KDVR for 3 months. It was brief. When she was offered AccuWeather, she couldn't pass up the opportunity to move to PA.

That's what I meant lol.. fixed... thank you
