  1. KTVT is dropping their 6pm newscast for a block of J! and Wheel.
  2. A couple of notes from this TVNewsCheck piece on syndication: - You Bet Your Life has been cancelled due to the writers’ strike. - Who The Bleep Is That? is a go for this fall after Fox’s test run back in March.
  3. Yet another Gray station trading a talk show for a local program. KFVS is dropping Kelly Clarkson for new local program Heartland Afternoon at 3pm September 5th. InvestigateTV+ will follow one week later at 3:30pm on September 11th.
  4. When Gray purchased Meredith, they inherited their graphics hub. Matt Quinn was the lead designer. GrayONE is built off the bones of the outgoing Meredith graphics package.
  5. WFSB has debuted GrayONE.
  6. 90% clearance for People Puzzler. Here’s the show’s website.
  7. KDAF is picking up the People’s Court rerun package from KTXA and The Big Bang Theory from KDFI September 4th. KTXA has also rejected the Judge Mathis reruns, so no word on where that is going yet (if it even gets rerun at all here).
  8. Appears 8pm/7pm newscasts are what's coming to the indies. In addition to the KPIX two-hour primetime news block, WCBS is adding an 8pm to WLNY, KTVT is adding a 7pm to KTXA, and KOVR is debuting an 8pm on KMAX called "Primetime Sacramento".
  9. KCRG replacing Kelly Clarkson at 9am with local lifestyle show Everyday Iowa.

  13. When did Jori Parys join WBBM?
  14. Opens and the bug are still saying News 4, but anchors and reporters are saying the new brand on-air and it’s showed up in some graphics.
  15. KMOV has changed their branding from News 4 to First Alert 4.
  16. Every O&O is getting the full look. This stuff takes time to implement.
  17. Also, that means three out of four of the existing indies (KTXA, WBFS, WSBK and WLNY) will be airing it in primetime as well. Not KCAL, for obvious reasons.
  18. Something notable from CBS’ press release about 48 Hours entering syndication next month:
  19. Here’s a promo announcing KBCW’s rebrand to KPIX+.
  20. New court show: Cutlers Court, with husband-and-wife duo Dana and Keith Cutler of Couples Court fame. Sold in 80% of the country.
  21. Effectively succeeding KRON’s 8 and 9pm newscasts, when they sign on with The CW. Interesting there’s no 10pm. I guess CBS is going to continue with Now News after all?
  22. Longtime KDFW traffic reporter Chip Waggoner is going off the air for the rest of the year because he was employed by a traffic agency and has decided to leave that company to join Fox full-time. He’ll return in early 2024, when he is an official Fox employee.
  23. Interesting how they haven’t claimed texas21.com yet.
  24. CBS has registered the following domains: philly57.com detroit50.com bayarea44.com newyork55.com pittsburgh19.com losangeles9.com atlanta69.com
  25. Update: these are syndicated half-hour reruns they’re testing. There’s a play-at-home game:
