  1. WXIA is another example, and it's not really a noticable weather set, it could really be the main set in a small market
  2. And not just sets that are not old but the decent sets (and young) sets while the ugly, old ones seem to stick around for various stations
  3. Get ready for "New At This American Morning Hour Day"
  4. I feel like some people are getting the wrong impression of our thoughts. The set's nice, modern, and we'll rounded despite everything being along the sides. The plain heart of the matter is a new set is the LAST thing this (and so many stations that Nexstar is either getting new sets for or recently did) station needed while the stations that DO need a new set don't get one.
  5. WXIA called, they want their terrible logo back...
  6. ANOTHER GOD **** DESK IN THE CORNER!!
  7. I swear to God if I see another set with a desk shoved in the corner I'm going to SCREAM!
  8. THATS the temporary set? Gosh I know they aren't ment to be elaborate but that looks more like the corner of a copy shop, especially with the fact this will be used for "a few months"!
  9. Dang that's a shame, it's an ok set, maybe an update would have been ok but not a complete overall!
  10. By the way your talking has the insider say it will be a new set entirely or a update? Also station executive, reporter, etc?
  11. There is honestly something so real with Dan Rather holding a pointer and pointing at the map. These days that same map and location would be used graphically with highlights. I know people say "oh that doesn't work today" with the old morning sets but you can still have some depth and warmth to a set and have some of the heavy use of technology used today. A perfect example is the 2013 Today set or the 2005 GMA set when they went to HD.
  12. No no, I apologize for making a quite uninformed comment as I have never seen Telemundo Charlotte or it's production. I just judged the title based on how COX neglects some stations
  13. So true, I will definitely remain optimistic as most of us with a new WGCL set sometime in the near future. This set is just sad considering other TEGNA sets are better-ish. Personally I rank the news sets in Atlanta as follows, 1 the best and 5 the worst. (1) WSB (2) WAGA (3) WGCL (4) WXIA hey just like the ratings!
  14. A station actually taking the time and attempt to cover something in full and warn viewers ahead of time?!?! IMPOSSIBLE!
  15. A downgrade, like the rest of this package! Definitely something that would be considered above average for a Grey station these days Thank you so much, now half of the broadcasting community won't get any sleep tonight! (In all seriousness though great Photoshop skills) Likely because like most things that used to come out of WRIC, it was just to menacing, sharp, and jarring
  16. Definitely, we've been knowing that since this logo debuted!
  17. The problems that this set faces is because it still follows the plan of the 2013 set. Just get rid of that plan and build a new darn set with brick and wood elements!
  18. Based on all we have seen so far, I'd rather call this a "rearrangement" than a "rework". Everyone please keep an eye on social media to see if we can find a picture of the whole thing (or atleast what we have not seen)
  19. The "changes" have debuted this morning. The morning crew just LOVED to comment on new lighting. Only bits and pieces have been shown, maybe later today a complete view will be given. Like the Instagram post from above, the main screen has been moved to the right of the set apparently. Home base is now directly Infront of a updated video wall beside the logo while the three monitors that used to be on the right are now on the left right beside the spiral staircase, nothing beyond that point has been shown. Pictures will be posted soon.
  20. Started seeing this on WXIA a few days ago, they appear to to be using a temporary set, or is this just a new secondary set. There apparently seem to have been two used (the latter images are still in use, the first two seen to be the set used for Atlanta & Company). What do y'all think, temporary set, secondary set, or what?
  21. Alright time to pack it up folks, they are on the main set once again unchanged, sorry to disappoint. This thread will be kept up just in case they pull a newsroom again in the near future
