  1. I knew Tony would get it. You guys said no.
  2. No Mo is too serious. Move Steve Lacy too the mornings give Maurice the evenings. But it’s mostly gonna be Dan Bowens.
  3. I know I read about her. Maybe she will return to Chicago someday but I get it. She might be the only genz me ever of action news depending how young she is I suspect she ain’t that far older than me. But I don’t know why I’m in this Philly subsection I usually ignore the Philly and Chicago sections of this forum because of there close proximity to NY and LA respectively.
  4. This is just another news share agreement I’ll be okay. I remember when Fox 5 in New York had a news share agreement with NBC4 New York they would refer them as there sister station. I don’t see anything bad coming from this. Chicago also…
  5. You’re right it may just be all in my head. Sometimes I have a hard time differentiating what’s in my head and what’s not. Btw she didn’t grow up in Chicago she grew up in Indiana. She was just born there.
  6. im still standing firm in my prediction and am willing to bet money on it. In 5 years she heads up I-95 and ends up in New York. I can’t see her going home to Chicago. Philly typically is breeding ground for journalists and meteorologists heading to NY i.e. Shirleen Alicot, Joe Torres, etc. even though those journalists were from NY originally still. I just think she’ll end up there, yeah it hard to get into NY TV Market it’s hard, but I think she’s got it. i could be wrong though!!!
  7. He been moved to so many shows over the years at CBS in New York he was on multiple timeslots until becoming evening anchor in 2010 for channel 2. They just used him
  8. Could there careers be revived at other networks. They both could go to cable.
  9. Horrible. I hope Maurice has an agent or someone he has network exposure so maybe ABC or NBC will pick him up. I highly doubt he’ll return to local news so essentially he’s homeless. He could go to MS Now maybe, but he loves New York and I doubt he take a correspondent job outside of New York. It’s limited space for him.
  10. Maybe they cut her, and didn’t let her have a goodbye.
  11. A little bit off topic but I see this woman heading to WABC in the next few years. She is obsessed with New York if you follow her page, now it could be just a good vacation spot but still I see it happening.
  12. Big loss for us here in Raleigh
  13. I think with CBS you have to differentiate between close 3rd and a distant third. There in the latter during Rather era they were a close or strong 3rd. They just haven’t regained that momentum.
  14. Oh I saw that. Eric just trying to boost himself up, before he leaves office. Curt didn’t need to get that heated.
  15. It’s unfortunate he’ll have no where to go WCBS could bring him back however he’ll probably demand a million dollar salary and with the climate CBS is in with layoffs they won’t take him he’s displaced if he goes. Will another network pick him up maybe. But I remember reading an article about Maurice he’s wanted a network position forever I saw a report when he was at WNBC he was trying to get every network hit possible to the point he left the station and bolted to WCBS for more opportunities and more network hits. That was 21 years ago now he made it and got a bad deal but who knows maybe this exposure could help him out. Now I’m not saying I’m on his side or anything I’m saying CBS did him wrong they did the same to Chris Wragge also but he was in a less important job. Maurice was at the highest most important network newscast flagship whatever you wanna calll it time slot going back local would be a demotion. The best move for him would to wait it out or leave. Or cancel the CBS Evening News at this point. Be like FOX. No late night show, no Evening News (and eventually) no morning show. Let the affiliates (not that they're strong) have all that time. You think that would make things at CBS worse. They could go totally into streaming. What would affiliates do with that time slot not every station can do an hour long 6pm newscast. Though it would benefit the central time station a full hour 5pm show.
  16. Firing your chief met is something.
  17. Wonder who they’re gonna replace the talent with on the new show. Not these younger folks still in there 20s I assume there gonna hire people from the O&Os and promote them to network.
  18. Good to see her doing well. She sorta disappeared after leaving the station she’s not active on social media.
  19. I got a lot to say about the celebrity kids part. But I didn’t see this coming there getting younger everyday. But at least she’s in her hometown again. But I’ll keep the first part to myself, congrats to her! I would say something about this but I’ll keep it to myself. Because I have an opinion on it.
  20. As he should. He left a good paying job for network. I notice very few New York local news journalists get network job the mostly are given to personalities around the country, also they’re treated like there at the network because there given makeup artists and extremely high salaries. Both NY, LA and newsies are given that conditions.
  21. No surprise his job was literally in danger. Question is what happens to Maurice.
  22. Cronkite is rolling over in his grave…
  23. This is still probably gonna happen, they don't really have the power the FCC does and Brendan Carr is probably gonna approve of this.
  24. Im glad Christine Devine gets her own show at 5pm. She finally can shine in her own light. I hope they don’t give her any co-anchor she deserves to lead something.
  25. That’s an identity, crisis. Right there. I will say the KCAL branding on KCBS could confuse viewers.
