It almost like running news departments or at least starting up one is cheaper than it was 30 years ago. Especially with everything cloud-based technology, Live U backpacks, and Virtual Sets its almost like you create a digital friendly tv news operation instead of what it used to be. I remember when I was working for KMSG I pretty much was never in a newsroom I was remote I could even work in another city.

They'll stay status quo for as long as they want too Nexstar knows these are legacy stations, that why they don't mess to much with PIX and KTLA and that why when they got their new set a it was a nexatar set in a box they had free reign to choose whatever designer.

Wowww. That's a hot take bro. I like her becasue she’s from North Carolina she's an NC State grad. She’s only in her late 20s and is already in a top 15 market. Nah not really. They all have to bow down to the Chief Betty Davis another ex-North Carolina broadcaster.

That would be great! To see them back on the desk. Wishful thinking though!

For some reason this comment infuriated me.

Correspondent isn’t a bad thing right…

He always leaving something, he can never stay somewhere a long time dammit Demarco. You got a network job very few journalists get a network job and you leave it, if I was him I would’ve stayed.

Interesting move I thought it be Mary Calvi.
-
Yeah I’ve seen his resume.

That too bad for Byron Miranda I thought he could be a really good successor to Mr. G if he retired. He definitely had the potential I do not like Stacy Ann like that I wouldn’t be surprised if she started some things that pissed him off.

It’s why ABC will always remain number #1 even with all the changes that have happened with the move to there new building and everything, they’ve remained consistent.
-
Hope it doesn’t affect ABC’s ratings I hope they can stay number 1.
-
No it won’t really, honestly they never really interacted with the live audience outside except for weather hits, and also presentations outside the studio. I just hope it doesn’t hit them ratings wise.
-
Facts… Austin like Orlando are strong secondary markets, honestly they too are irrelevant but I think FOX just wants that ad revenue from the high ratings.

Lester Holt stepping down from NBC Nightly News
GraphicsMan replied to JosiahCubed's topic in Network News
Well with MSNBC moving out soon, they’ll have a lot of studio space soon. But if Tom likes it I don’t see a problem. That today logo can be removed for the nighttime shows. I’m sure the set can be modified in between shows Tom already moved to another part of the set for Top Story. Ya know I think studio 1A is a great space, and with today’s technology they can have there own space for all principal shows, breaking news and election coverage and special reports as needed. -
CBS is gonna make ASMR popular.

Glad he’s not retiring I’ll give him to 2035. But I’m glad he’s staying.

Lester Holt stepping down from NBC Nightly News
GraphicsMan replied to JosiahCubed's topic in Network News
He also did a special report from 1A today also. Yep he retaining those duties too wonder if he’s the managing editor of that program also, whatever he has a heavy workload. I probably would’ve stepped down from one program to focus on another. If Studio 1A becomes to studio for all the important NBC News programs then it needs to be extensively renovated, I think it’s a good idea for both programs to share that space. -

Muir been on the chair for the longest out of any of the networks while CBS and NBC changed anchors for there flagship programs a combined 6 times since Muir got the job in 2014. In fact I’m going back to Muir tomorrow I’m just used to him, I just wanted to see this change out. -

Wow that was harsh got home later but i saw the last 15 minutes so i can really put a finger on it. I have some other opinions but id keep it to myself. I’m just glad I’m no longer on camera anymore, ehh I hate it one thing it made me realize is I don’t wanna be famous. Maybe someday I’ll return, but I like my sales job I was making more anyways. Austin will be fine he really likes small markets he’s not a fan of big markets because he cares and wants to mentor journalists like myself he’s a good guy who just a the wrong end of a deal he was passionate he wouldn’t be able to see potential like he did in me in a big market because he wouldn’t have been able to hire me without no experience or Eric or Marcus. He generally doesn’t care about market size he loves what he does I wish they were more people like that in all industries. -
They will have a hard time.

Wow. Didn’t see that coming. The new station launches newscast it definitely gonna struggle in the ratings. Like some have said this is purely money related I don’t think CBS knows how hard it is yeah they have newscasts but it’s produced somewhere else. You’re talking about moving production in-house and starting an entire news department from scratch, in a market with 3 established stations and one station that losing it affiliation struggling to keep up now you add another newsroom in the picture. I think CBS is gonna have a very weak prescene in Atlanta. This was money based not ratings based and it will hurt CBS.
