That video couldn't have been WABC's situation haha. Thanks for sharing that Brian!

Looks like things are escalating between Edwards and Benhke

Today is the day that WABC-TV Channel 7 is turning 70 years old.

You remember the on-air news anchor faces including Scott Vincent, Roger Grimsby, Tom Dunn, Bill Beutel, Gil Noble, Ernie Anastos, Kaity Tong, Tom Snyder, John Johnson, Roz Abrams, John Marler, Rolanda Watts, Greg Hurst, and others...

You remember the on-air news reporting faces including Mark Haines, Carol Iovanna, Doug Johnson, Rosanna Scotto, Jay DeDapper, Dorothy Lucey, Art McFarland, Lara Spencer, Judy Licht, and others...

You remember the on-air weather team faces including Lynn Dollar, Storm Field, Ira Joe Fisher, and Sam Champion.

And you remember the on-air sports team faces including Howard Cosell, Spencer Christian, Jerry Azar, Corey McFerrin, Eli Zaret, Scott Clark, Mark Stevens, and Marvel Scott.

The station was launched 70 years ago today, when the station's call letters at the time was WJZ-TV, and it's call letters WABC-TV has been since 1953.

And today after 70 years, Channel 7 is still New York's #1 television station, and the #1 television station in America.

So happy 70th anniersary, WABC-TV!!!

Lauren Glassberg has been substitute anchoring far more often recently than she typically had in the past. Wonder if it's a contract renewal stipulation for her, or if they're short staffed with summer vacations.

On another note, Sade is going to slowly return to the 5:00 pm show next month per Bill Ritter.

Let's not forget a bigger anniversary if you ask me: November 17 is the 50th anniversary of the Eyewitness News format thanks to Mr. Al Primo.

I've been working my brains off on a spreadsheet of every non-freelance staff member in WABC history since 11-17-68. It's been an insane amount of work.

So, something interesting, be it very grotesque, on tonight's news.

Channel 7 covered a grotesque murder of a mother in the Bronx. Then, Josh Einiger noted that this family had dealt with an issue like this before. They flip to video of Jeff Pegues and Liz Cho from 2006 covering it, when the victim's mother was brutally murdered.

While it is nice to see Jeff Pegues and Liz Cho get a throwback moment, man this was creepy.

Good old EWN: If it bleeds, it leads.
