Iisha has been there for almost 3 years and Kevin just over a year. I will cut them some slack since it's their first severe weather coverage at NBC5 and didn't have the veterans to help.

Scott was equally as bad earlier this Summer/Spring when it was her, Brant and Pete during severe weather coverage. That said, she gets no sympathy from me. If she can't hack it, she needs to go. Once both Brant and Pete retire, they're going to be screwed.

Nothing official from what I've seen, but Evrod Cassimy has been anchoring weekday mornings with Michelle for the past few weeks, including this week and it seems JC Navarrete has been demoted to general assignment reporter for the afternoon newscasts. Good for Evrod, he is a strong anchor and a needed boost for the morning news.

He’s got a fun personality on the air. Especially with the recent story they did yesterday and was singing one of GloRilla's songs!

Glad someone saw the light, if you will, and made the change. Cassimy fits in well with the rest of the morning team.

After nearly 13 years with NBC 5, Lauren Petty announced on her Facebook page that tomorrow is her last day with the station. She is going to leave broadcasting and pursue a new adventure outside of broadcasting.

She has joined the media relations team at Northwestern Medicine.

I wonder if WMAQ will have someone dedicated to covering health related stories again Lauren was the first one dedicated since Nesita Kwan left the station in 2015.

I think they should have someone cover the health beat. With Sandra Torres being a bilingual journalist, being able to turn around health stories for both an English and Spanish speaking audience could be invaluable. But, if I had to guess, maybe Kate or Regina succeed Lauren.

Not sure why Rahimi was hired in the first place. Berman and Blanzy could have shared responsibility with a freelancer (Ruthie Ploinsky, etc...) filling in the gaps. I know Raul Delgado from Telemundo Chicago has filled in as well from time to time.

Many things not only just the fact that Mark bounce apparently due to some other things back in 94, despite he didn’t want to leave.

Other things to note:

Then you had his replacement, Jon Kelley who was disliked by many.

Adamle leaving for CBS 2, after Tim Weigel's passing, only to return in 04, and forced to retire in 2017.

The passings of Darian Chapman in 2002 and Daryl Hawks 9 years later.

Ryan Baker only to leave for CBS 2 as well. The list goes on.

Maybe Polinsky was freelancing, but so is Blanzy. As for Telemundo talent, I haven't seen Delgado, but I did catch Hector Lozano a few times, including tonight, all of which were prerecorded reports. Stefan and Allison briefly recapped tonight's Hawks game, then tossed to Hector's Bulls report. I hope this was Leila's decision, because it would be otherwise mind-numbing to dismiss your lead during this part of the year.

For the record, though, there is an online job listing for a sports anchor/reporter.

Polinsky was freelancing, but (I believe) she's now tied up with the Chicago Sports Network. Blanzy, started out freelance, but I don't think that's still the case (at least it shouldn't be after 8 years ). Nevertheless, when Lewis left, they could have promoted Blanzy or Berman. Jeff has more than enough experience in the market. However, anytime anyone is name lead sports anchor, something happens, so there's that...

I figured there wasn't a need for another investigative reporter at WMAQ, but I can't blame them for signing him. Too much experience to pass up. Plus, with an already established investigative unit at WMAQ, Goudie doesn't have to build one from the ground up (i.e.. at WFLD).

Makes the most sense if he wants to continue. CBS probably couldnt or wouldnt match his salary request.

Im sure NBC didn't match his request either. No one is paying that kind of money anymore. This seems like a vanity project, just to stick it to his former station.
