rkolsen 1694 Posted June 25, 2016 Posted June 25, 2016 while local providers like Charter, Comcast and TWC, along with Dish keep it 4:3 full on the SD channels unless the stations strongly regulate their analog SD display specs. Is it possible that the channels may be sending out the proper AFD flag OTA but not via their direct fiber feed to Comcast?
Ryanthenewsgeek 31 Posted June 27, 2016 Posted June 27, 2016 Just stayin' Why are you thinking that far behind? With some that already launched, it won't be that long for the others to follow suit.
dabnis74 52 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I'm just curious how CBS has delt with WJZ not mandating the CBS look or still using a set from the 90s. I don't care who's in control of the station but you would think by now the big office would demand them to get out of the 90s.

And follow the reigns like their long time sister station, (since the GroupW days), KYW, new logo and all? The 2013-16 and the revised O&O opens are the same. (Looks better on the NON-O&Os* than the O&Os themselves.) *WFSB (CBS3) Rocky Hill/Hartford, WGCL (CBS46) Atlanta, WDJT (CBS58) Milwaukee

TennTV1983 810 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Don't refer to WFSB as CBS 3. Just sounds weird to them. That and it's how their low-powered sister station WSHM is branded.

WFSB's is great though, especially with that Advantage signature in it.
groupwfan 97 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 Don't refer to WFSB as CBS 3. Just sounds weird to them. I keep on forgetting.
TheRolyPoly 2639 Posted June 28, 2016 Posted June 28, 2016 I keep on forgetting. If anything... "Channel 3" or "WFSB Channel 3" is more recognizable to WFSB than "CBS 3" because then people like me would think of WSHM-LD than WFSB.
qunewsguy 378 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I'm surprised to see nobody's mentioned that "Linear Drift" is the group behind the new look. The demo showed up on their Vimeo a couple days ago alongside a bunch of other recent Media General graphics packages.

RGSJenkins 435 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 WLNY now has the new graphics, it debuted Monday. Image News is still being used.
CircleSeven 1963 Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 WLNY now has the new graphics, it debuted Monday. Image News is still being used. Glad they kept Image on 10/55.
WestleyWolf 123 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 WLNY now has the new graphics, it debuted Monday. Image News is still being used. that's because KCAL still uses it. their isn't really anything else to use except enforcer which would be weird to hear since they are independent affiliates. but since their independent affiliates they can still use Image if they need to.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 958 Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I do wish they would go with a separate color scheme though... Even though they are run by CBS O&Os, use the package, but with a slightly different color scheme to keep the 2 identities more separate.

mardek1995 200 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 No the 2016 CBS O&O look.Speaking of which, there are still some CBS O&Os that havent gotten the new graphics yet
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 958 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 KCNC in Denver was one of the last to get it, so they'll probably be one of the last to get this refresh
Hexagonal10 84 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 KCNC in Denver was one of the last to get it, so they'll probably be one of the last to get this refresh Wasn't KPIX last?
LANews 8 Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 Any word on when KDKA will get the new look? Right now KCNC, KDKA, and yes KFMB are in the books for a couple of months
C Block 1573 Posted July 2, 2016 Author Posted July 2, 2016 And KCNC was the first after WCBS and KCBS the first time around. There's not really any way anyone can predict these things with any accuracy, other than that they all will get it at some point (with one obvious exception).
