That’s rather ironic, considering Antena 3’s history. They’re apparently considered to be the Fox News of Romania, and were known for falsely reporting that George Soros was behind a series of protests against the Romanian government. The network also ranks as being among the least trustworthy in Romania, according to a Reuters Institute study.

 

I guess that given CNN International’s reputation, Antena 3 figured that a partnership with them might bolster their credibility.

Global News has underwent a major rebrand, with new graphics for all of its newscasts (replacing one based on a now-discontinued imaging package used by the main network), and an updated website.

 

There's a lot of white and red (with the local newscasts also adding in some blue accents). At times, especially with the serif fonts, it feels more like the Globe & Mail than Global, but it's definitely a well-needed update.

CBC News Canada has launched another FAST Channel that was made available seemingly exclusively outside Canada on Roku and smarttv's. In addition to the CBC News existing jukebox channel they launched CBC News Explore which combines headline segments with documentaries and other long form stories and a few new programmes with some interview shows.. It interesting they didnt roll the other channel into this new venture.

Some sad news out of Brazil. Long time jornalist for TV Globo and the first black Brazilian TV journalist Glória Maria has passed away from her fight against cancer.

The Korean Broadcasting System's flagship news program "KBS News 9" has debuted a new look, with an updated theme, a new set, and intro in celebration for the 50th anniversary of the relaunch of KBS. I personally think this is a vast improvement, replacing some quite over the top 3D graphics and a small set.

This is a montage of what the Canadian networks did to cover the Alberta provincial election last night. CBC, Radio-Canada, and Global pre-empted their primetime programming with province-wide election night shows, while CTV broadcast separate rolling election shows for both their Calgary and Edmonton stations. Citytv did rolling coverage on their FAST news channel, while the broadcast stations in Alberta aired The Bachelor. Global News also premiered their new network election graphics and music.

On Monday, RecordTV debut their new logo and rebrand. They're now just called "Record".
