MarkAnimates 40 Posted June 20, 2025 Posted June 20, 2025 France 4 has refreshed its on screen identity. 1
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted June 21, 2025 Author Posted June 21, 2025 Australia Some viewers in regional South Australia and New South Wales could see the Seven Network go away thanks to an expiring contract with WIN. 1
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted June 26, 2025 Author Posted June 26, 2025 Spain (using a bull because its something synonymous with Spain, plus the Running of the Bulls in Pamplona is next month. Its almost that time once again) RTVE is making changes once again to its flagship news product, Telediario. Marta Carazo will leave her duties as presenter of the 9pm edition after just 18 months at the helm in September (she originally took over for Carlos Fraganillo when he left to helm the 9pm edition of Informativos Telecinco). This article states that it'll be Lluis Guilera from Canal 24 Horas. There were earlier reports that Silvia Intxaurrondo could've taken over the role (where she would've been moved over from the morning program La Hora de La 1) but several journalists were discontent over that choice, so nothing is certain as of right now. https://www.esdiario.com/chismografo/medios/250622/161681/tve-encuentra-sustituto-marta-carazo-frente-telediario-2.html Also, Sirun Demirjian will be leaving her post hosting the morning edition of Telediario after a five-year run of doing so. Cristina Pampín from Canal 24 Horas was given the position, but she has flatly rejected it. The only certain thing coming in September is that Alejandra Herranz will continue to anchor the 3pm edition of Telediario who she took over from Ana Blanco when she stepped down from the desk after a 30+ year run back in 2022 to work on other projects and programs for TVE (Blanco is now retired). https://www.eldebate.com/cine-tv-series/20250620/malestar-dentro-tve-ante-posibilidad-silvia-intxaurrondo-presente-telediario-2_309138.html One more thing, they're making these changes to better compete against their main competition, Informativos Telecinco, and the undisputed leader right now (and my favorite), Antena 3 Noticias. For example, last Thursday, Juneteenth here in the U.S., the 9pm edition of A3N (anchored by Vincente Valles, himself an ex-Telecinco and TVE anchor) got a 22.2% share, well past TD2 (11.2% with Marta Carazo) and I5 (7.5% with Carlos Franganillo). This article also states that Marc Sala, who also anchors La Hora de La 1 with Silvia, is looking to possibly leave the program in favor of hosting some sort of program on Radio Nacional de Espana (RNE; Spain's public radio broadcaster). https://www.eleconomista.es/informalia/television/noticias/13425333/06/25/tve-ultima-cambios-en-los-informativos-pero-silvia-intxaurrondo-esta-descartada-para-el-telediario-2.html 1
MarkAnimates 40 Posted June 27, 2025 Posted June 27, 2025 DPG Media from Belgium has been approved by the Authority for Consumers & Markets to take over RTL Nederland, as announced on the Noedoleckin YouTube channel. https://www.acm.nl/nl/publicaties/acm-stelt-strenge-voorwaarden-aan-overname-rtl-nederland-door-dpg-media Quote The die has finally been cast: the Belgian DPG Media is allowed to take over RTL Nederland for the sum of 1.1 billion euros. The Belgian media giant already owns various brands; such as VTM, QMusic and RTL-TVI in Belgium and in the Netherlands it publishes Donald Duck and Libelle and also owns newspapers such as AD and De Volkskrant. This deal is subject to strict conditions, according to the ACM, which conducted a lengthy investigation into this. For example, RTL Nieuws must remain an independent news brand, it may not copy other news content from other DPG titles and there may be no paywall on articles, as is already the case with NU. What this will mean for the RTL channels will all be announced later, but they will undoubtedly undergo a rebrand soon after more than 2 years of the 'united' brand of our eastern neighbours. And so, after 36 years, RTL's Luxembourg adventure comes to an end; the company will now become fully Dutch. 2
MarkAnimates 40 Posted June 29, 2025 Posted June 29, 2025 Some recent news...... SVT's channels got a refresh: The German version of British satellite provider Sky is to be acquired by the RTL Group. https://company.rtl.com/export/sites/rtlunited/en/media/overview/press-releases-and-news/rtl-group-to-acquire-sky-deutschland/ 1

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted July 11, 2025 Author Posted July 11, 2025 Canada Corus is in a really bad shape financially. Want more proof of that? These channels will cease to exist come September 1st: • ABC Spark • Disney Jr. • Disney XD • La Chaîne Disney • Nickelodeon This will leave two things: • CMT as the last Paramount-owned network in Canada owned by Corus. • Disney Channel as the last Disney/ABC-owned network in Canada owned by Corus. The Canadian TV industry continues to fall rapidly... (This link is paywalled): https://cartt.ca/corus-to-pull-plug-on-some-kids-channels-amid-financial-pressure/ 1

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted July 17, 2025 Author Posted July 17, 2025 Spain Pepa Bueno is coming home. The longtime Spanish journalist who's had a long distinguished career in journalism, and a long time at TVE before leaving in 2012 and at one point, doing radio in Cadena SER, and even Editor for El Pais, is going back to where it started... RTVE. And ironically enough, she's going back to her old job: Telediario, anchoring the 9pm edition on La 1, just like what she used to do from 2009-2012. She also used to do Los Desayunos de TVE from 2004-2008. https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.rtve.es/rtve/20250717/pepa-bueno-regresa-a-rtve-para-presentar-telediario-noche/16667404.shtml 1
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted July 19, 2025 Author Posted July 19, 2025 Canada I tried to find a place to put the link here, but I didn't know where, so it's landing here, and it's about sports on TV for a change. CBC Television will broadcast the first-ever Northern Super League (Canada's women's pro soccer league) Final. That'll take place on November 15th. TSN (English) and RDS (French) will also carry it with international coverage on ESPN+ and NSL's YouTube page. https://www.cbc.ca/sports/soccer/northern-super-league-final-cbc-bmo-fiield-1.7588733 1

ATLNewsExpert 508 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 United Kingdom ( Scotland specifically) STV, part of ITV, has debuted new sets for it's operations in Glasgow and Dundee (slight differences but overall the same) and new graphics!! Honestly, this might be the best looking newscast in the UK now, hope ITV proper follows suit, they still have the same graphics from 2013. 1
mouseboy33 137 Posted August 19, 2025 Posted August 19, 2025 The set is good. So much better than the previous one and its miles better than the ITV virtual garbage and the hard sets the regional newscasts have. Id rate it above the weird Ch5 set with the big "radiators" in background and the old colour-blocks Ch4 set. That hasnt really changed much in decades. Its too similar and the same can be said for the BBC sets. Where it falls apart for STV is the graphics, music and the old fashion format. They had the opportunity to do something fresh and they kept the glassy photos montage, yawn. And the stock library-sounding theme. Almost there, but the set is very nice. 3
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted August 25, 2025 Author Posted August 25, 2025 Canada Canadian television continues to shrink. This time, more kids channels are going under. Family Channel, Family Jr., WildBrainTV, and Télémagino are all going away in the next couple of months. This is a result of failed negotiations with Rogers to carry their channels. Bell has already announced earlier to remove them as well. https://www.animationmagazine.net/2025/08/wildbrain-to-unplug-its-tv-broadcast-business/ 1
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted August 25, 2025 Author Posted August 25, 2025 France BFM TV launched a new look today. It also brought in former TF1 and France 2 news presenter Julien Arnaud to launch a new mid-morning program, Arnaud Direct, from 10am-12pm. https://x.com/lenodal/status/1960012473005990226?t=wru6M9a7INRIevMyCIEzkw&s=19 1
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted August 26, 2025 Author Posted August 26, 2025 France I just found out today that Anne Sophie-Lapix has left France 2's 20h after 8 years and France Televisions in general due to political pressure from both the left and the right. She is joining M6 for Sunday programs and major news coverage and RTL Radio for a two-hour daily program. https://www.thetimes.com/world/europe/article/anne-sophie-lapix-axed-spats-macron-le-pen-kj3mfbpzv 1 1
