BostonMediaWatch 1 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Boston's WFXT FOX 25 is ditching it's open newsroom set that they have had since 2003 to construct a new set. More from New England One: http://ne1.news/2arO7R7
C Block 1566 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Hope it turns out well. That was one of the cooler sets in local TV in my opinion.
Greggo 358 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I'm surprised it took so long. The newsroom set still has the "old" Fox 25 logo plastered everywhere.
brb588 114 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 I'm surprised it took so long. The newsroom set still has the "old" Fox 25 logo plastered everywhere. ... which is the most god-awful logo out there for a top market.
JacobC 44 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Here's a look at last night's newscast with the green screen infront of the anchors
Hexagonal10 84 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Here's a look at last night's newscast with the green screen infront of the anchors Nice set, if only they fixed the green part.
ProButtonPusher 230 Posted July 29, 2016 Posted July 29, 2016 Nice set, if only they fixed the green part.
Eat News 4745 Posted July 30, 2016 Posted July 30, 2016 Boston's WFXT FOX 25 is ditching it's open newsroom set that they have had since 2003 to construct a new set. More from New England One: http://ne1.news/2arO7R7 What is the point of an open newsroom set if there is nobody in the newsroom at showtime?
bostonmediaguy 124 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 The new set debuts tonight at 10pm. I'll let others weigh in on the redesign. But I'll quote one of the comments: "Putting a cheeseburger on nice china still makes it a cheeseburger."
JacobC 44 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 3 months wow that's a lot of work since being O&O back then.
brianpr3 178 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 LAME! it is right about cheeseburgers and china
kimmykun 13 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Keeping that logo, eh? Overall, tho, it's not bad. It does look kinda small, but that studio is huge, so that's probably why.
Action Newsroom 1300 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 I kinda like it too. Much more clean and streamlined (as it were). It's definitely that logo that takes it all down a peg, though. (...and I assume that where that "cheeseburger on a china" analogy came from.)
Greggo 358 Posted September 18, 2016 Posted September 18, 2016 Why debut it tonight, when everyone will be watching the Emmys on ABC? Unless they want to get the kinks out with as few people as possible watching.
NewsMaster 226 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 The only thing this set has going for it is that it makes the horrid logo look less "out of place". This set is extremely underwhelming for a major station in a major market. It would look good if it were in a smaller market, but Boston? Nope.
jero23 105 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Cox should have did with what was down with WHBQ and just kept the O&O era logo and just modified the graphics. Their logo for WFXT and WFOX are GARBAGE, PLAIN AND SIMPLE.
Weeters 1969 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I like the truss warmers. A completely unnecessary touch, but a nice one.
MidwestTV 1247 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 It's really not THAT bad. Truly, a different logo might make a difference for how some people here see it.
MichiganNewsGraphicsJunkie 949 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I kinda like it myself.. but yes really wish that logo would just be burned at the stake in Salem.
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 My question is when will they finally replace that logo with one used with the "FOX" standard logo?
KRAP-TV 146 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 I've been watching some of the 9am news, and the set looks nice enough. They did not ditch the open newsroom layout, which I think is smart. The 2 shot of the anchors at the desk is underwhelming, and I think we've spilled enough ink about the horrific logo...
TheRolyPoly 2592 Posted September 19, 2016 Posted September 19, 2016 Yeah... they never really ditched the newsroom look after all and I'm glad they kept that because that's the way WFXT has done news since 2004 by having a newsroom look... basically copying WSVN/WHDH in the way they do news by having a newsroom look or in 'SVN and 'HDH's case... "The NewsPlex."
Guest Posted September 20, 2016 Posted September 20, 2016 Looks like every other set I've ever seen. But at least they managed to scrub a little more of that Gregg Kelley funk out of that place.
