When life gives you baloney...

Because do I think traditional media is dead? Uh no! As long as the local news business is doing fine it's still alive, yes of course you can get news anytime you want on sources like NewsOn but to say that traditional news media is dead? Yeah I have to call that baloney!

Don't get me wrong...the local news is doing ok profit wise.

BUT THE PRODUCT IS CRAP!!!! and it can't be saved in its current form.

I think it's nice you are holding out some hope for your hometown market...but don't.

It will just hurt more.

And I disagree because the only station I could think of where the product is crap is KOKH (too much turnover in the anchors/reporters leading to unfamarity with viewers) KOCO has a solid news product but once again, too much unfamarity between the viewers and anchors/reporters is why KOCO has always been 3rd, KFOR's product has improved since Tribune bought them in 2013 and KWTV has always have a great news production (which makes sense given that KWTV is owned by Oklahoma City-based Griffin)

Weather coverage is alright I've noticed that Mike Morgan's tornado coverage has improved since when he told his viewers to "drive south" during the El Reno Tornado in 2013, Damon Lane and Jeff George is the calmest meteorologists on TV in my market and David Payne likes to look at the sky too much instead of making eye contact with the viewers I think he needs to go back to the Oklahoma dirt roads where he belongs, just my opinion

Put him in a Time Out Myron cuz my blood sugar is getting low.

I've already ignored him Myron what more does he want? lol poor Myron he's forgotten that Griffin bought KSBI in 2014 (which formed a 3rd duopoly in Oklahoma City) thus making a quadropoly impossible

I'm sure KWTV will continue to be a fine establishment of news....but some of the others are gonna go.

Consolidated or shut down...because noboday wants to spend money on actual newsgathering...they just want to steal it, poach it or borrow it from others on the webnet.

It's cheaper when you just push data...not actually go to cover it and report on it.

I disagree also because KFOR and KOCO are fine as it they do just as decent of a job as anyone else could so is KOKH.

I know this because I've lived in the Oklahoma City market all of my life and until you've seen the quality of a news product that KWTV, KOCO, KFOR and KOKH all put on keep your mouths shut please and thank you

Definitely at KFOR/KAUT. KFOR has a separate building (designed like military barracks, REALLY?!?) dedicated to KAUT, so they have enough room to add KOKH/KOCB.

Wasn't KFOR/KAUT supposed to get a new building? Whatever happened to those plans?

I'm still here.

I build rockets.

Oh stop it, you don't build rockets, if we could we would be billionaires

Can we PLEASE get back on topic, EatNews and Myron have been ignored, let's just move on and stay on topic.

I'm sick and tired of listening you both of y'all's nonsense Myron and Eat News

What just happened???

Some people are just clueless about my hometown market.

They've forgotten that Griffin's purchase of KSBI in 2014 has made it illegal for Sinclair to form a quadropoly beetween KFOR, KAUT, KOKH and KOCB in my market.

Amen to that!

I just wish people would educate themselve before spewing out that kind of nonsense but unfortunately it'll never happen
@okcnewsman It might be illegal, but at the same time, the way this current administration is..noone really knows whats going to happen.
IF the FCC makes changes to it correct me if I'm wrong but that change won't take effect until some time next year and by that point the merger would've already been either approved (with divestures) or rejected
