C Block 1573 Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Lieberman is reporting that Ken Wayne is leaving KTVU-2 since his contract is up. Big loss. He was there 26 years. Really nice and friendly guy too. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1703593603061219 2
AJClementeFan69 477 Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 By "quality", I think he meant pushing out veteran talent for young talent, and "social media-driven" newscasts has somewhat taken over. I may be wrong about this.. Scripps is like trying to be Tegna-lite in that regard. 1

Really nice and friendly guy too. https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=1703593603061219 That's cuttin the cord. Actually more like "pulling the rip cord" ... Somebody sure has some faith in the future numbers. There is NO going back now. Remember to hug your children tonight. 1

Guest Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Thank you FOX for ruining this. Once Frank and Julie are gone, we'll be blaming FOX too. Wasn't Ken supposed to be the logical heir apparent to Frank Somerville? Correct me if I'm wrong. 1
Eat News 4745 Posted April 20, 2018 Posted April 20, 2018 Wasn't Ken supposed to be the logical heir apparent to Frank Somerville? Correct me if I'm wrong. Well stations anchorships are no longer hierarchy's by any means. Most of you wish they still were...by they are not. FOX is moving to a newsreader style locally...away from "Anchors". They have proved the concept as viable so far at KTVU. KTVU has bounced talent all over the schedule for the last 2 years and the viewers seem fine with it. But only very special eyes at KTVU get to see the ratings. Doubtful Ken even has a clue as to what his numbers actually are/were. I may even say Mr. Wayne may NOT have had a clause in his previous contract requiring FOX to fully disclose the ratings to him and his agent. Anywayyyyyyyyyy 1

What an amazing career. My dad grew up outside Richmond and whenever we visit his mother (she still lives in the area) he'd always remark that he was amazed Sabrina was still working. She's been at NBC12 since he was in High School! Enjoy retirement Sabrina. 4
MidwestTV 1263 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 List add to the list of retirements why don't we? KWCH's Roger Cornish is going to call it quits. http://www.kansas.com/news/business/biz-columns-blogs/carrie-rengers/article209483434.html 41 years, six months, and 13 days he said. His dad, wife, and son all worked there at some point. Wow. 5

CLETVFan 369 Posted April 24, 2018 Posted April 24, 2018 WEWS has hired two new sports anchors to fill some holes in the department - Derek Forrest and Jon Doss. Both have already started on air.
Guest Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Holy crap she looks like she’s in her 40s. Good makeup or great genes, or both. I've seen people half her age that look awful.
ns8401 960 Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 WXYZ’s weekend co-anchor Breanne Palmerini is leaving to take a main anchor role in a smaller market. Sports reporter Kacie Hollins is looking elsewhere. This will leave WXYZ with only 4 real anchors for the whole station. But hey... Scripps isn’t in serious trouble... no sir...
JCB4TV 352 Posted April 25, 2018 Posted April 25, 2018 Another one leaving WNEP. Leaving to escape Sinclair! Sound about right. 2
