MediaZone4K 2662 Posted December 17, 2025 Posted December 17, 2025 Former WJLA anchor Robert Burton has joined WTTG his wife Jeannette Reyes' former station. If she stayed, it would have been cool for husband and wife to anchor together.

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted December 18, 2025 Posted December 18, 2025 For those who are interested in Dave Ward's funeral coverage from KTRK (information via TitanTV)... This Friday, immediately following the 11 am news, KTRK will air funeral coverage from 11:30 am to 2 pm. Get this, KTRK will not air just their usual 35 minutes of the 10 pm news, but instead, 50(!) minutes worth from 10:45-11:35 pm (CFP Playoffs via ABC is why it's delayed). Other listings sites have it at their usual 10:30-11:05 pm, so just check local listings as they say.
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted December 18, 2025 Posted December 18, 2025 Here is the last newscast for longtime KATU anchor Steve Dunn after a 39-year run at the station. This was aired Tuesday night.
TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 Brian Holmes has left KTVB after nearly three decades in the industry. TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted December 19, 2025 Posted December 19, 2025 A major transitional shift is about to happen at KCBD Lubbock. A lot to unpack so stay with me here... Karin McCay, Abner Euresti, and John Robison have been together on air on KCBD for decades, at least since 1983 when John arrived. Beginning in January though, while no one is leaving, part of the team will break up. John, the Chief Meteorologist, is leaving the 5:00, 6:00, 9:00 (KJTV) and 10:00 pm newscasts and instead will transition to their noon and 4:00 pm newscasts Monday-Thursday with Sundays at 9:00 (KJTV) and 10:00 pm. He'll also become Senior Meteorologist. Steve Divine takes over as lead forecaster on weeknights at 5:00, 6:00, 9:00 (KJTV), and 10:00. Finally, Meteorologist Shania Jackson will move to do weekday mornings for Daybreak Today (5-7 am on KCBD, 7-8 am on KJTV) and Good Day Lubbock (8-10 am on KJTV). https://www.instagram.com/reel/DSbPwz5CRXu/?igsh=czZsanR3dGh0ZWRz 1
MediaZone4K 2662 Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 Former WANF morning anchor Lana J Harris will now be a radio host at New York City's Hot 97 (WQHT-FM) per her IG. The station is not specifying what role Lana and some other new cohosts will take. It's widely presumed they will hrlm a replacement for the canceled Ebro in the Morning. Legendary long time DJ Funk flex is hosting a temporary replacement for the show. He also confusingly announced that he will eventually take over the morning slot in 2029.

TheRolyPoly 3510 Posted December 20, 2025 Posted December 20, 2025 After 11 years in the business, its soon coming to a close for WPBF's Vanessa Vinent. The next 10 or so-ish days will be her last there. https://www.facebook.com/vanessavinentwpbf/posts/pfbid02VUwZShX7ErkDELxkxo3PTvyoFAo27Cci659X8JPmGHKHY6Yfvf67rtpX6fFQprE2l This comes as Jennifer Correa ended her brief two-year tenure at WPTV today and is also leaving the business. Times are changing... One more unrelated note, but also a BIG retirement coming up... KSDK's Mike Bush will be wrapping up a 41-year run... but not until August of 2026. Started in 1985 doing sports, and transitioned to news in 2002, meaning he's done 17 years doing the former and 24 years doing the latter. In the meantime, he'll participate in a few activities, according to the station... KSDK's move to 1001 Highlands Plaza Drive next month. NBC's coverage of yet another Winter Olympics in Italy. Mix that in with NBC's coverage of Super Bowl 60 from Santa Clara. All the winter (currently) and storm seasons that are expected in the region. That's all before he retires in August 2026. Not a bad way to wrap up a legendary run in St. Louis. https://www.ksdk.com/article/about-us/ksdk-legendary-anchor-mike-bush-announces-retirement-date/63-fcb1f5af-82f7-48b3-8359-e5a6977f51c6 2

ABC 7 Denver 1889 Posted December 21, 2025 Posted December 21, 2025 (edited) I don't know where else to put this (and if you have any recommendations, I will move this post). Disclosure Day, a few film from Steven Spielberg dropped its first trailer on December 18th. In the first several seconds of this trailer, Emily Blunt's character is presenting a weather report at a fictional NBC station in Kansas City. We can of course rationally say of the images below that 1. There wouldn't be that many people on a new set these days or ever. and 2. Spielberg wouldn't build a custom set for this. So we're probably seeing an existing set from a local affiliate (DDG maybe?). I don't immediate recognize the affiliate to whom this set belongs. Does anyone else? The U3 on the weather monitor also scream EW Scripps, too, which given that KSHB is in Kansas City, is a nice touch. Edited December 21, 2025 by ABC 7 Denver 1

That top white box above the weather map is definitely based on a Scripps graphic I think. They could easily have paid them to use the design elements. Looking a little harder one of the real KC stations did a piece on it… this was filmed in New Jersey. The set is a fake built at the New Jersey Institute of Technology. They dressed up a building as the stations building… they even put satellite dish props behind a fence. Edited December 21, 2025 by ns8401 1

This gave me a chuckle being a KC native. - The graphics are clearly inspired by the Scripps design (and frankly looks a bit more refined). - The 4 seems inspired by KSHB's 41 - It's an NBC affiliate, which WDAF (channel 4) used to be - The set, honestly, doesn't look that bad. I'm trying to recall who the desk too inspiration from - It's still hilarious seeing movies portray newsrooms/control rooms/studios as being packed with people like an actual movie set when in reality they're barren and lonely. Also funny is the idea the meteorologist is reading off the teleprompter.

Also funny is the idea the meteorologist is reading off the teleprompter. If only station groups had movie gfx budgets. To be honest, as a movie set goes, this news set looks authentic. The lighting detail is amazing and I would be comfortable seeing it every day. I wonder if the scenic designer for the movie contracted with a news set designer to bring that authenticity. In the second shot, I suspect that the weather map is keyed in after the fact and it's just green screen. From this third shot, how many camera operators do you need? Why are these camera's manual? We need just one floor director, thanks and weather is usually stationary. Walking through the trailer, frame by frame, their must be 30 extras on set including a floor director, 3 camera operators, 2 makeup artists (which station has the budget for that these days?) and a bunch of writers and gaffers around. I don't think stations had this many support staffers mulling around back in the 80s! 10 hours ago, ns8401 said: They filmed scenes in New York City, New Jersey, Atlanta and Huntington. It can be found on most streaming platforms and YouTube. The Kansas City Star had an article: https://amp.kansascity.com/news/local/article313775394.html And so did the FOX affiliate there: https://fox4kc.com/news/entertainment/kansas-city-channel-4-news-station-featured-in-new-steven-spielberg-trailer/amp/ It occurs to me in a scene like this they can keep some actual folks who are working on the production in the far background in a scene like this and have it still look legitimate. I agree there are an awful lot of folks there when they might have 1 to do the floor directing. 1

justin2kx 246 Posted December 30, 2025 Posted December 30, 2025 (edited) From Puerto Rico: About two weeks ago, it was reported that Teleonce, which went thru a major rebrand four years ago, will go full time independent for the first time in 23 years, disaffiliating from Univision. The network bought WLII-TV in 2002, converting into an O&O and rebranded as Univision Puerto Rico from OG Teleonce. Despite early success in the ratings, it since declined thru the 2010s, cutting back local programming and running more imported network content. Its more infamous moment was when the network shut down its local news department in 2014. The network since sold the station to Lieberman Media Group in 2020, while retaining its affiliation, en route to its 2021 renaming. In turn, WAPA went thru a rebrand in 2007 (from Televicentro) and since then has been the leading local station on the island. Even Telemundo PR, which went trials and tribulations in the 2000s (cutting back local news and programming) has since been reinvested by NBCU/Comcast and solidified into the #2 station, improving local content. Coincidentally, TelevisaUnivision still owns its former sister station WSTE-DT 7.1, which is essentially an informercial station for more than a decade. It used to be a notable local major station for years, first as Rikavision, then Teleluz and later and most famously as Supersiete thru its time. T/U is moving its content to the station starting monday night 7p, with a fuller schedule starting Tuesday with the return of Despierta America to the market. It'll retain its Teleisla local branding at this time. Its schedule is a mix of Univision/Unimas content on a single station. Meanwhile the agreement between T/U and Lieberman (Tele 11) runs out this wed 12/31, despite scrubbing out Unimas content from its local sister subchannel 11.2 earlier this month.
