Nexstar is at it again with these newscast expansions.

This time it's in California with KTXL launching a 7pm newscast and according to TV News Check, they will be the only ones with 7pm news in Northern California https://tvnewscheck.com/article/top-news/241812/ktxl-sacramento-expands-its-local-news/

KICU's hourly 7pm show says hi. ......Oh and KPIX too (aibeit half hour).

I consider the Bay Area to be a seperate region from the rest of Northern California, yes KTXL won't be the only ones with 7pm news but as far as the entire Northern California region not named the Bay Area yes they will be the only ones with 7pm news

Sad part is, no more Andy Griffith. Ellen moves to 9 am. And 2 Wants to Know just becomes a regular 5:30 newscast.

Thank goodness I don’t live in the Triad. How dare WFMY move Ellen to mornings. I hope it returns to afternoons soon. I wish they’d considered moving it to WXII if WFMY didn’t want it in the afternoons. Not to be heartless, but this is the holiday season, and unless Ellen was losing in the afternoons in Greensboro, or she opened her mouth to something, that is horrible.

Apparently WSOC-TV's noon newscast is back to a full hour now starting earlier today.

Finally. They usually had garbage and 12:30 so I am happy they finally fixed it.

Never have understood why they thought making it a 30 minute newscast was a good idea.  It should've been an hour long this whole time.  Glad to see it back to one hour though.

Betsy Kling has been named co-anchor of WKYC's upcoming 5pm show with Jay Crawford.  The new show is slated to start next month.

Best decision WKYC has made in a while. She’s surprisingly versatile and has done a great job filling in at the desk over the past year or so.

I do feel badly for other sidelined and underutilized anchor talent at WKYC, like Lynna Lai and Danielle Serino (who both fit in perfectly during the heyday of 19 Action News then moved over to 3).

Veronica and Ken mentioned at the end of last nights Bay Area Nightbeat Newscast on KBCW that it will be going off the air. Tonight will be the last produced newscast on KBCW.

Starting Monday (12/9) KBCW will be broadcasting/simulcasting an hour of CBSN Bay Area Newscast in place of its 30 min Nightbeat Newscast.

Veronica will continue to anchor the hour long 5pm newscast on KPIX.

Ever since the launch of CBSN Bay Area, KBCW now simulcasts KPIX 5 Morning News from 4:30-7 in place of informercials.

There was a short stint back in 2016 with the simulcast of Good Day Sacramento from 7-9 on KBCW 7 days a week but that didn’t last long.

New York sister station did this same practice, I believe last year. They got rid of its branded "10/55 News at 9" for a CBSN NY-produced news at that timeslot.

WBZ did the same thing with their 8pm newscast on WSBK when they launched CBSN Boston.

Only on weeknights, weekends it's still branded "TV 10/55 News at 9".

Not sure if this video has been posted yet anywhere on TVNT, but thought I'd get this on here.  This is the announcement as made on WFSB's air earlier this evening.  Very sad.
