WALA FOX 10 is expanding Studio 10 to TWO hours and adding a midday newscast this fall.  Not sure if the midday news will be on at 11am or noon.  Joe Emer announced this morning on Good Day Gulf Coast, and he will be moving to these new shows, bringing Eric Reynolds back to the program with Sarah Wall. Eric currently anchors the 4:30-7am portion.

That's the first time I've seen a lifestyle program expand to 2 hours....has this happened anywhere else?

An update...the midday news will be at 11am-noon and Studio 10 will be 2 hours from 9-11am beginning on September 5th.

Allison is lucky to have had lots of WTOV colleagues work alongside her at WSOC, him and Natalie Pasquarella included.

In other words... all local, all morning from 4:30am-12pm.

That seems to be the new trend emerging at the news-intensive stations that don't have to deal with network programming at the time.

WGN Chicago goes from 4am-1pm central.  Any other station exceed that time, locally?

Only 1 hour of that is devoted to lifestyle programming...Daytime Chicago, from 10-11.

Might be a good time filler on some former superstation of theirs, but alas....

KTLA from 4am-2pm and that's all-news.

Ouch. In a market like Chattanooga, the morning news probably uses a skeleton staff on a normal day. If you can't put on the news, that means you literally have no producer, no air talent, no director-- and maybe  enough people working sick on the nightside staff that you can't hold them over for a double shift all night.

Also in Charlotte Maureen O'Boyle signed off the anchor desk last Friday night at WBTV. Pleasant, popular, and professional, it will leave a big void to fill. Sorry to see her go.

Per FTVLive, WHBQ Chief Meteorologist Joey Sulipeck is out. He had been suspended by the station after making racial remarks toward Draymond Green on social media. The move comes shortly after Imagicomm’s takeover of the station from Cox.
