Route66Fan 77 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 "The network will be available nationwide on the TV stations of Hearst Television, Marquee Broadcasting, Maranatha Broadcasting, Weigel Broadcasting and other affiliate partners." "Story Television marquee series will include Biography, The Men Who Built America, World War II in HD, Modern Marvels, Mankind: The Story of All of Us and more." I wonder if this will be carried on KCWE-TV, Ch. 29.3, in Kansas City, MO? They currently have their main programming on Ch. 29.1, True Crime Network on Ch. 29.2 & HSN on Ch. 29.4.
east-tx-tv 121 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 I guess since Weigel has a DFW presence (KAZD), and enough channel room (4 right now), they'll probably have Story TV there. Will be good to have a docu-series choice without a lot of the reality fluff.
24994J 5664 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Announcing the channel is fine, but we're not going to be speculating about what stations will carry it. Please.
nathannah 2528 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Excited to watch World War II in HD in beautiful compressed standard definition 480i. On a more serious note, glad that History's archive is finding a good broadcast home. As A+E goes even more into reality, these libraries seriously need to be exploited more and air somewhere rather than being stuck in the late night hours.

Please. Sorry, I forgot all about the Speculatron thread, I just wanted to provide something of my own in addition to posting a link to, & quoting, the site. Thanks for the correction anyway.

Yeah, that's going to be a drawback. I wonder if their affiliates will be able to make arrangements with local cable systems to provide HD feeds.

You act as if cable and broadcast industries have a close and positive relationship, not one based on liquidating the consumer's assets for retransmission fees.
Yankees4life 564 Posted February 17, 2022 Posted February 17, 2022 Eh...there's already a diginet like this in QUEST. I don't see the demand for this but I guess that's one more diginet for cordcutters to watch

I don't see the demand for this but I guess that's one more diginet for cordcutters to watch I hope you also don't see the demand for the dozens of diginets that re-air old sitcoms, dramas, and movies. MeTV, AntennaTV, Cozi, Retro TV, Decades, GetTV, Movies!, This TV, etc. I don't have a Tegna-owned station in my area, so I can't get Quest. I do, however, have two Hearst-owned stations, so Xfinity gives us two MeTVs, right next to each other.

I don't see the demand for this but I guess that's one more diginet for cordcutters to watch Quest is more of History's current content direction like "Ax Men", "Ice Road Truckers" and "Shipping Wars", while Story seems to intend to draw from the 1995-05 library more before A&E decided to go all-in on reality. At least with Weigel, they seem to prefer to build networks which draw from niche and broad interests and a solid scheduling strategy, and not just take libraries without real theming.
Route66Fan 77 Posted March 24, 2022 Author Posted March 24, 2022 KMBC-TV, in Kansas City, MO, has lit up Ch. 9.3.
kfc513 244 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 WLWT will have it on 5.4 according to this: https://rabbitears.info/market.php?request=station_search&callsign=46979#station
mre29 1573 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 Looks like it'll be on WCVB, too -- but not WMUR. https://rabbitears.info/search.php?request=network_search&network=Story+Television
CLETVFan 369 Posted March 26, 2022 Posted March 26, 2022 No affiliate right now in Cleveland, so it looks like W27EA-D might likely be the destination.
Route66Fan 77 Posted March 28, 2022 Author Posted March 28, 2022 I've recorded the launch of Story Television, off of KMBC-TV, Ch. 9.3, in Kansas City, MO, & uploaded it here.

johnothy 43 Posted March 28, 2022 Posted March 28, 2022 Frndly TV added Story TV today as well as MeTV. H&I, Decades, and Start TV will be added later in April. Frndly TV is available starting at 6.99 a month.
