SuitSnob 19
OK…this will be the all-time record of speed from broadcast of a Male Fashion Disaster to having it posted here. I had no plans to do any more updates-but GOLLY GEE WHIZ!!!! Damn…I guess it’s true…when the cat’s away, the mice will play! I announce my imminent departure and then within DAYS one of the all-time best graduates of the SuitSnob Fashion Intervention Program COMPLETELY backslides! Maybe I should cancel my plans and not take the new job…I can’t allow the good people of the New York Metropolitan Area to be forced to look at such displays: RON CORNING-SHAME ON YOU!!! They actually made a joke about him wearing a tie on Friday for the first time with Jodi saying “Viewers demanded it.” (Is she referring to Little Old Me?) So what does he do? He: Wears an ugly, cheap-looking sport coat that we have never seen before. It looks like he took the material from his infamous old lightweight plaid suit and put it in a Cuisinart. Look at the ugly material and how bad it looks on camera! Look at the lousy tie…sloppy knot too! And worst of all…(drumroll) JEANS!!! Why Ron, why?!?! Forget the million viewers…what about poor, sweet Jodi having to look at it up-close. Honest to God Ronnie…can you look at yourself and really think that you looked anything close to good today? Let’s compare you to that nice Reid Lamberty just down the desk a bit…this is like the old Goofus and Gallant from Highlights: Close-up: Full Shot: SHAME SHAME SHAME SHAME!!! I hereby deputize Jodi Applegate to beat your denim-clad ass if you ever disrespect yourself and viewers again. Where at Goodwill did you did up that ugly, piece-of shirt sport coat-the 99%-off rack or the dumpster? This is what I get for complimenting the plaid jacket without the tie last week. Damn, why am I ever nice…give them an inch… Sincerely Disgusted, SuitSnob Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/405-male-fashion-disasters/page/14/#findComment-28966 Share on other sites

SuitSnob 19
I miss you already SuitSnob... (sigh) All good things come to an end...sort of like how Lee Goldberg stopped wearing the vests with his three-piece suits...:agree: Damn...what will happen when I leave...Dick Brennan buttoned all the buttons on his otherwise perfect suit again tonight after not doing it for weeks...it's going to be anarchy, I tell ya!!! Amra 171
Dear SS: You should pick your Top 10 Best dressed and Top 10 Worst dressed as your final report. By the way, which city are you moving to? It would be great if you keep your Male Fashion Disasters on the General TV area if you aren't moving to Los Angeles. And to wrap it all, I really enjoyed reading your reviews about the anchors in NYC. I learned to dress up better in a suit after starting to read this thread. Farewell Suity, at least I will be missing your posts here. Thank You. Now THAT would be an appropraite send-off for my last week!!! OK, Men of NYC News...I delcare next Easter Sunday and Easter Monday (two days to accomodate both weekend and weekday staff) is SUITSNOB EASTER BEST DRESSED APPRECIATION!!!!! Yes...men who secretly read this thread to know how to wear their own threads...show your love by sending SuitSnob off into the sunset by wearing your absolute BEST outfit on Sunday/ Monday! Or if you hate SuitSnob, send a message by purposely wearing your WORST outfit and button the bottom button of your suit coat! This will be fun and just in time for my final post (on this topic at least) that week! BTW-does anyone want to take over SuitSnob duty? SuitSnob 19
Don't forget Men of New York City News! Sunday and Monday are SUITSNOB APPRECIATION DAYS!!! SHOW YOUR EASTER SUNDAY AND MONDAY BEST!!!! Or, purposely dress poorly to show your disdain and depreciation!!!! Mini update: Ron Corning, our poster boy had quite a St. Patrick's day...look how dapper and neat he was at the start of the shift: Love the cool mint tie...and look at the tailoring/ fit on his shoulders-excellent!!!! But then, they put him in this get-up for the end of the show: Thanks for the heads-up on this one! Ron must have known I would have immortalized this! REAL kilt-wearers go Commando...was Ron felling the Irish spirit that day? But this is a sad day for Ron. He no longer has the distinction of wearing the single ugliest tie of the year: Oh the horror...the HORROR! What are these boys going to do after I leave next week? WHAT?!?!?!? Did he actually look at this tie and say "Boy, I bet this is going to look great in HDTV!!!":puke: Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/405-male-fashion-disasters/page/14/#findComment-30010 Share on other sites
alaskanews 113
Thanks for the heads-up on this one! Ron must have known I would have immortalized this! REAL kilt-wearers go Commando...was Ron felling the Irish spirit that day? Actually I saw an e-mail about this in my work account, some organization offered to donate some amount of money, I can't remember how much, for every news man who wore a kilt on the air. SuitSnob 19
No coincidence. Have always enjoyed the thread for better or worse. Best of luck. I don't know if I should believe this...but a one-year registration with no posts is a long way to go to prank Poor Old SuitSnob.! OK, if this is really Lee-then wear a purple tie on Wednesday to prove it! In any case, God bless Lee Goldberg for setting the highest possible standard for professional dress for men on local news. And kudos to your tailor! (And your vests really do miss getting to be on TV with your jackets and pants!) SuitSnob 19
Hmmm....another coincidence? Chris Wragge, who I have tormented then praised over the course of a year (and have been one of the biggest defenders of his non-fashion talents as well, as the nay-sayers saw him go from Sports Dude to Emmy Nomineee)...watching him go from Wraggs to Wriches wore a pocket square for the first time ever tonight....Hmmmm...a coincidence? An Easter gift? Hmmmmmmmm.... Link to comment https://localnewstalk.net/topic/405-male-fashion-disasters/page/14/#findComment-30204 Share on other sites

Vlad 325
See, there is proof that producers or whomever in charge are indeed reading this thread and this forum! SuitSnob 19
two button navy suit...red tie...red pocket square(slightly different shade of course) Holy shit!!! Either an intern spotted him wearing this upon arrival, or else Ladies and Gentlemen-we are in the presence of greatness!!! And if so, it also feeds the theory that as much exasperation I caused the Fashion Impaired over this last year and a half, I guessed that the guys who actually know how to dress were quite amused.
