Ravenclaw 0 Posted April 8, 2008 Posted April 8, 2008 yes but all YOU can do is try and critic everyone's apprearance,... and give us your **&$&^ on how to dress. What a joke! Go get a life you moron! Honestly dude, random flaming of Suitsnob is SOOOOO 2007... Is there a reason that all of the people that flame Mr. Suitsnob rave like maniacs and don't seem to have a good grasp on written English? PS I miss Suitsnob. (

TrfRptr 3 Posted May 19, 2008 Posted May 19, 2008 This seems appropriate for me to post here. I recently purchased a light grey suit. What are good tie/shirt color combos, or primarily just shirt colors. And I would assume black shoes are fine with the suit color. Grey is a color I've never owned or had on so forgive the lack of fashion-sense here.

I'd need more parameters to answer your question...depends on the shade of grey and what you are wearing it for. I say read through this thread-you'll learn almost everything you need to know (if I do say so myself). Poor me...all I have now is Chris and Lonnie on Saturday mornings and Sam Champion on weekdays. I miss my boys!!!
SuitSnob 19 Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 I want to see a catfight: Sam Champion vs. Lonnie. I can see them both trying to pull the other one's blonde highlights out.
TrfRptr 3 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Just a standard light grey. Nothing fancy, no stripes.
ib-td 1 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 I want to see a catfight: Sam Champion vs. Lonnie. I can see them both trying to pull the other one's blonde highlights out. I would pay tv that scene. However, it may be too hot for net tv.
TellyGenic 33 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Since when is bitch-slapping too hot for network TV?
SuitSnob 19 Posted May 21, 2008 Author Posted May 21, 2008 Since when is bitch-slapping too hot for network TV? Considering the fact that they would both probably have erections... As far as the grey suit issue-again, what do you need to wear it for? But basically with a light grey suit I would only reccomend a white or very pale shade of blue for the shirt.

TrfRptr 3 Posted May 21, 2008 Posted May 21, 2008 Grey suit; wear it for TV and just regular business or casual wear. I was thinking white or pale colors...but if pale blue is the rec., great. Thanks. ++ Perhaps Lonnie could get his daytime buddies to help in that epic battle.

NewsJunkie247 1 Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 On Good Day NY last Tuesday, they were doing a segment on how men can look professional without a tie and at the top of the 7AM hour, Mike Woods took off his tie and is pulling a Ron Corning. He had his jacket on at the beginning without a tie and then when he went to give a quick weather update, he just had a plain white shirt that was unbuttoned at the top. Jodi Applegate had urged Mike to take off his tie and she was trying to get Rick Folbaum to take off his tie as well, but he didn't. The madness doesn't stop there though. Andre Hepkins was reporting on power outages and he was wearing a light blue polo shirt! In his defense, it was in the 80's and got up to the 100's on Tuesday, but still, a light blue polo shirt! Then, last night on the CW 11, Jim Watkins was wearing no suit jacket at all, just a shirt and a tie and it appeared that he was wearing jeans too because you could see the top of them behind the anchor desk!! What is with the madness?
TellyGenic 33 Posted June 13, 2008 Posted June 13, 2008 I caught that on the CW last night - did Jim ever explain WHY he had no jacket? Running late, perhaps?? Toward the end of the broadcast I thought I heard him say something like "thank you" to the viewers for a reason I didn't catch...
NY5 0 Posted June 14, 2008 Posted June 14, 2008 Rick wears nice ties and always matches with the pocket square.

NewsJunkie247 1 Posted June 16, 2008 Posted June 16, 2008 I caught that on the CW last night - did Jim ever explain WHY he had no jacket? Running late, perhaps?? Toward the end of the broadcast I thought I heard him say something like "thank you" to the viewers for a reason I didn't catch... I only caught a few minutes of the broadcast and I didn't hear any explanation as to why he wasn't wearing a jacket. Even if he was late, he could have had somebody behind the scenes run and get him a jacket. We need you back in NY SuitSnob!
SuitSnob 19 Posted June 18, 2008 Author Posted June 18, 2008 I wonder if he spilled something on it? But you would think all of them men would keep an emergency suit, shirt and tie in their office for just such occasions.
SuitSnob 19 Posted July 2, 2008 Author Posted July 2, 2008 Jeeze! This thread got over a thousand hits since Sunday! Don't people know I am retired? What happened, did the Phil Lipoff Fan Club get wind and come here to luxuriate in the screencaps? So, what's going on, SuitSnob Acolytes? Anything to report to Good Ol' Suitsnob? Any fashion disasters I am missing?
TellyGenic 33 Posted July 2, 2008 Posted July 2, 2008 Over 1,000 hits yet no new postings. Odd, wouldn't you say, SS? Nothing new to report - everyone is pretty much behaving themselves that I've noticed (except for Jim Watkins' tendence to go without a jacket about once a week now....) Missing you in the Big Apple!
NewsJunkie247 1 Posted July 3, 2008 Posted July 3, 2008 Wow! Over 1,000 hits on this thread and no new posts! Nothing much new in NY SuitSnob. Jim Watkins didn't wear a jacket two days last week, but he did on Monday and Tuesday nights. I wonder why he hasn't been wearing jackets lately. Perhaps they are all at the cleaners. Still, he could have borrowed a jacket from somebody else. Come on, he's on the news in New York City, not Montana!
SuitSnob 19 Posted July 3, 2008 Author Posted July 3, 2008 That is really, really weird about Watkins. Those boys are getting so daring now...it's like Batman is missing from Gotham City and the criminals are running amuck. SuitSnob Acolytes!!! Hear me now! It is YOUR responsibility to report all Male Fashion Disasters here so they can be held in riddicule and contempt!!! Don't let my good work be in vain!
