  1. Past hour
  2. I’m starting to think KSHB is close if not on deck. They are showing more of the updated package on newscast outros and talent promos. YouTube thumbnails also seems to have the updated look… fool me once….
  3. Yeah... I'm not sure what they're trying to accomplish here with all these changes. Having better structured blocks (i.e... Chicago's Morning News: 4:30-9A, Good Day Chicago: 9-11A, The Loop: 11A-1P) is a plus (I guess). But, they can't keep blowing things up every couple of months without alienating the few viewers they have.
  4. I don't remember seeing a sponsor, but I'll watch for one the next time the ad plays.
  5. Yesterday
  6. UPDATE (again) With Elyse now on the main shows on WBBH, its Christy Soto taking over Elyse's 6:00 and 11:00pm weeknight gigs on WZVN. Christy will still be on at 4:00pm on WBBH. https://www.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=1419216390012159&id=100057714354916
  7. Interesting that KWCH still uses non-standard weather branding.
  8. I tuned in to WFLD on my portable TV this morning and it seems that FOX 32 debuted "Chicago's Morning News" for the morning newscasts but moved Good Day Chicago to the 9:00am slot, and debuted the two hour program called "The Loop" at 11:00am.
  9. So, the stations traded Liberte Chan for Olga Ospina?
  10. Yes, they did, simulcasting from FanDuel Sports Sun. This new deal is for games to air exclusively on WPLG in Miami, I'd expect a broadcast deal to be done at least in West Palm Beach in the not-too-distant future.
  11. I thought that WPLG was going to get the Heat as they aired 10 games in 2025-26 season.
  12. If I’m interpreting it correctly, this sounds like a more permanent gig.
  13. Didn't see this yet as according to the comments Liberte Chan, formerly of KTLA, will be making weather appearances soon: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DY3Bnc8PfTQ/?igsh=cnB1dm5ldDlqNDcx
  14. Is the ad sponsored? Then there's your answer. Just a promo the sales department needed to slap a logo onto because the client was sold the time.
  15. Speaking of former Action News sports talent, Jamie Apody will do sports for at least tonight: https://www.instagram.com/p/DZVEVQ1pkRo/?utm_source=ig_embed&ig_rid=4add935e-37e3-4011-a74b-0712262f4bf3
  16. Sometimes we get so locked into what’s perceived as the “normal” way that it can become seen as the “only” way even when it isn’t. Maybe this doesn’t work out for them, and they switch something up. Maybe it does work out long term. The economics aren’t what they once were. Maybe being different and seeing how it plays out is worth the shot when all factors are taken into account.
  17. I think they're correcting the way you spelled her name. It's Carabeo, not Carabello. Anyway, I agree that this schedule is just odd. Jan has been doing weekends for years now. I feel like they could have just promoted her to Monday-Friday and found someone else to do weekends. Although, maybe she personally wanted to do it like this.
  18. The Heat are off to WPLG next season:
  19. Already mentioned a few posts prior.
  20. WZZM Chief Meteorologist Samantha Jacques announced on FB she is leaving the station. She's been Chief barely a year. According to AM Anchor Tanner Hollbrook Friday is her last day.
  21. Jan Carabeo.
  22. Yet not a thing about it on their social media, over the air, or in the local paper (I believe). Just drove by KAYU today and with them likely moving out of the building, KREM will be the only TV station on the hill.
  23. Honestly think a better use of their resources is to shift Siafa to the mornings with Janelle and let Natasha handle afternoons/evenings with Ukee. I never understood the appeal of Siafa.
  24. Last week
  25. What a strange schedule. Will Josh Sidorowicz continue at 7 AM or will Jan Carabeo do that too? I suppose Natasha Brown will continue at noon.
  26. AMAZING stuff in this post. Rare cable stuff and a new "holy grail" television market, all unearthed. Starting with this one...Jerry Bishop wishing us a wonderful tomorrow and all. First time finding a 1986 or earlier sign-off from Disney. Of course, both sign-off variants (including the "Mickey Ball") have been uploaded by other YTers. There were many tapes in this lot with free preview weekends from Disney. I drove all the way to the Packwood flea market to find this VHS tape from Lewiston. I have been looking for a KLEW taping for many years, and finally found one: Long-defunct KCWT Wenatchee from 1985...I'm guessing, can't find an exact date. KCWT was an indie, then was a Fox affiliate (mostly relaying KAYU with some local programs), then went to Channel America and TBN before a transmitter malfunction in 1993 knocked them off for good. I wonder how KCWT would have fared as a local Big 3 network affiliate with a news department...if they had been successful. Wenatchee is a weird area, with plenty of Seattle viewing on cable, yet there were Spokane VHF translators in all of those communities (and west to Leavenworth...even as far west as Lake Wenatchee). Another cable sign-off here...for American Movie Classics. Bob Dorian (1934-2019) wraps up "Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House" with a tribute to Cary, there's a promo for "The Bible" with George C. Scott, tomorrow's schedule, and they sign off the air. December 5th, 1987, around 4:30AM Eastern. (I wonder if Bob watched his own network once they started adding Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead. Probably not.)
  27. Latest finds: KNDO 4/6/87, Pat Dooris, Kyle Osborne WX and Doug Kershaw on sports CNN Headline News, 5/31/1998 via *KLEW Lewiston*!!
