  1. Has anyone else noticed that Liz Dahlem has been off for a while? She's been on mornings for about 3 years now. Briefly over the summer she moved to evenings. Went back to mornings, now she hasn't been on the air since August. I hope she's OK. Anyone know what's going on?

  2. LOL. 4th place news org in the city hires another anchor that probably won't last that long here either cause the station's management can't get out of its own way? Not even close. I will give them credit for going to a respectable operation to find her though. They should also look at WJZ to figure out how to put out a decent news product.

  3. Finally I get the chance to post something here again! I've been trying to jump in, but all the videos I've wanted to submit were taken by others! Anyways, here's the intro to the ABC Saturday News (not to be confused with the ABC Weekend News which aired on stations after their late news or before sign-off) from May 20, 1978, taped off KVUE in Austin:

  7. Also, in an apparent surprise move, Chris Berman returned to SportsCenter yesterday evening with his traditional "The Blitz" segment featuring the day's NFL highlights. Looks like ESPN decided to not announce it ahead of time. Back in September, we were told that Berman was only being brought back for 5 short pre-recorded Friday segments throughout the NFL season and that there was no agreement in place for him to do highlights. New ESPN management is now working with him to try to get him to work select Sundays throughout NFL season. He's already got personal plans in place most Sundays, but ESPN hopes to bring him back for about 25% of the Sundays this season. https://nypost.com/2018/08/20/the-head-of-espn-is-behind-chris-bermans-tricky-return/ I know Berman has his detractors, but man, did I miss his unique style of reading the highlights this past year and a half.

  8. Are they changing the pairings up, or does this have to do with the move?

  10. Also from ewjxn's channel, but this time I've brightened the video quality of the original:

  11. Nothing new about the man who made a mess of KDFW's downtown Dallas building several weeks ago, but a quick pass by the building in recent days shows plywood on the windows, but no work beyond that. No new facade/siding, no bollards.

  13. In other words, as long as the ratings are sky high, it doesn't matter how much controversy comes up, that person will still be on the job AND will still appear on TV, apps, etc.

  14. Double post, but I already found it thanks to a tip on the Channel video I'd overlooked. It appears to be a KPM track, Superstar Fanfare (or just Superstar depending on the version). Oddly enough, while the logo sounds right, I couldn't seem to find the version KATU seems to have used. I did, however, find one that ...

  15. I thought they were in 3rd place, but I get your point. Same difference. Yes, the WCCO experiment is not working. Doing things such as switching where the weather and sports people sit will not do the trick (weather person has to walk in front of desk to get to their seat). The same anchor team at 5/6/10/11 while also contributing to the 4pm doesn’t work. And while I like Alexandria and Natasha, I don’t think they make a good team at 4pm. Send one of them to weekends with Joe and give the other a young male co-anchor, and they should add either the 10pm (or 6pm) to their duties. Sports: Don Bell was an upgrade from Beasley Reece so all ok there. Weather: I love Kate Biko but she seems better suited for mornings. They should have never booted Kathy. And I’m not sure what purpose adding Lauren served. She is definitely not for evenings.

  16. I think Jessica is a good addition. Here’s hoping Rick Ritter replaces her at the WJZ anchor desk.

  17. Dave Chudowsky has officially been named the new weekday morning news co-anchor with Maureen Kyle on WKYC. He replaces John Anderson, who, of course, is no longer at the station. Al Pawlowski replaces Dave at the weekend sports desk.

  20. Didn't even think about that but it makes too much sense. LOL at the idea of networks still changing the personalities of these newscasts instead of overhauling the antiquated format.

  21. WRAL in April 1988. Can anybody ID the music? That package is much more extensive than what the NMSA has. That close at the very end...whoa. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=id=1LCgVY0YfjA;m=4;s=17

  24. I’m assuming it’ll contract to a trio when one’s away; there has been talk of both Norah and Gayle contributing to 60 Minutes this season, so I wonder if Bianna is there to be a permanent part of the show without being delegated to simply fill-in.
