1. President Trump? Is that you?

 2. Doesn't matter. WEWS still should have broken into coverage when the initial reports first came on.

 3. I agree with Weeters, it's also not just as simple as "we're breaking into programming," if WEWS is hubbed as far as master control, you would have to contact them and let them know you're breaking into programming. On top of that, the network will need to be informed you are breaking into their programming to deliver breaking news and find out if there will be a special re-air or if you're just plain SOL. In the case of soap opera viewers, you DO NOT mess with their soaps unless there is actual cause for concern. A simple crawl and heavy social media presence is good enough in this day and age. If they waited and broke into WWTBAM, they can do so because that is their syndicated slot and syndications can be reaired later. However, why would we risk potential local ad revenue for breaking news about something that ended up being nothing. Furthermore, like Weeters said, it's better to know all the facts and have things confirmed than to break into programming and have no idea what you're talking about. Working on an assignment desk, I get hate calls all the time for breaking into programming and against. You can't make everyone happy. And screaming at the person who answers the phone and telling them that they and the station can go to hell and you'll never watch them again means absolutely nothing. For every lost viewer for something stupid and small, we gain about 100 more.

 4. I don't know the kind of time off she'd be allowed, for the different circumstances, but they, in fact, might be down 2 meteorologists for a stretch. (Original caption mentioned a pending adoption by Kalee and her husband.)

 6. First, KJRH and now WEWS. I really hope Scripps can realize that this isn't the way to do things. Otherwise, I feel sorry for Cordillera, KXXV, WTXL and potentially Tribune or Cox as well.

 7. I believe Nexstar doesn't use any outside promotion for its news programming, at least from where I live.

 8. Live with Kelly and Ryan's Ryan Seacrest flew back and forth between New York and Los Angeles for three months during American Idol earlier this year. It looks like Ryan will do the same next year as well.

 10. The Orange Room is blocked off now for what I assume is when Carson is gone. It’s slide in wall with wooden “steps” of the Today show logo seen similar to the acrylic one that’s out orange that’s immediately next to the video wall. Now as a Savannah fan I think she should get the third hour to even hours up (between her and Hoda). She could make it newsy while also pop culture friendly. Seems like you don’t have any like for NBC at all yet so why are you watching? At this rate your beating dead horse on your end but is making NBC hundreds of millions.

 11. The live audience element of the third hour should continue, in my opinion — unless they already have other plans for 6A.

 12. Actually, I think its WIAT again and I say that because yes, WIAT did have a resurgence. However, when Hearst bought WVTM, they completely turned it around and ratings have significantly improved to a point where I think WVTM is now second behind WBRC. Unfortunately, with Nexcheap now in the hands of WIAT, they'll quickly be back to being laughing stocks in the market again.

 15. Part 2 of CBS commercials from a Nov. 1987 CBS College Football broadcast between the Oklahoma Sooners and the Nebraska Cornhuskers: encompasses the entirety of The Prudential College Football Report (halftime show w/Jim Nantz and the late Ara Parseghian), but also includes a newsbrief from KWTV Channel 9 (CBS station of Oklahoma City), and other commercials

 16. Notice since sometime in October at the start of Today In New York, Michael Gargiulo is no longer doing that long intro, "Welcome to Today In New York, the only local newscast on the air at 4am every morning with up to the minute news, weather and traffic the minute you're up."

 17. Not to sound like an ageist, he's 69 almost 70. I'm thinking he will be there (2) more years. Which will give him 40 yrs at BNS. However, despite the station being dominate it newscast is stale it not hip or nor it demos go to a younger demo. I think being with CBS also hurts them. SYX definitely does well in younger demos.

 21. The third hour opened as basically an extension of the main show. Edit: at 9:20 am Jenna Bush Hager picked things up from studio 6A with Al and Craig joining her later on.
