  1. Not to digress even further on the movie end of things, but the sex/violence issue is precisely why Disney started Touchstone Pictures in the 80's. They're just using Fox (a bigger, more well-known name) for that now.

  3. I surely do miss the Jennings era when they actually had WORLD NEWS for the majority of the newscast. Unfortunately overall news distribution has degraded to viral video analysis, online shopping discount notifications, and too much fluff pieces. At this point, they might as well call it GMA: After Dark.

  4. I wish HLN would do more non-political news as a contrast to CNN. Or that CNN would stop being so fixated on 24/7 Trump coverage.

  5. It's rumored that she and WFAA agreed to part ways after a small spat with her coworkers which led her to post some trash talk on social media (that was swiftly deleted). Seems odd that she would leave without something lined up, seems odd that WFAA would remove her when a growth in their viewership correlates to her arrival on the DFW airwaves. Who knows what the truth is.

  6. Let's not go too off topic here, but to quote today's Variety article about Alan Horn and his expanded purview...

  7. Their, not there. It reminds me of the Cheddar logo as well which makes sense. I noticed it on my Altice One guide on Monday. I have not noticed it on air on News12NJ as of yet.

  8. Not to mention... BREAKING NEWS every time they kick off the broadcast. It's effing ridiculous.

  9. From Chicago, a short WFLD news promo from that brief period in 1987 when the station aired news at 7 p.m. and 11 p.m. (an unusual time slot for a Central Time station!), but not at 9 p.m.: By the way, the first "32" logo seen above -- from "Latenight 32" -- was the station's pre-Fox logo. And here are the first seven minutes of a WFLD newscast from the following year:

  10. Disney doesn't own the searchlights anyway! Fox Media owns the 20th Century Fox trademarks, and Disney is licensing them on a perpetual, royalty-free basis.

  11. 1. Google it. KHOU and KPRC are not O&O's. 2. KABC, KGO, and KFSN have differently-colored versions of the same graphics. KTRK's is a different package, period. More 3D effects, different opens, different lower thirds.

  12. I will up that $100, and say that Nexstar and Hollywood are about to hit 'head -on" in the middle of Sunset Boulevard... "Oh The Humanity!"

  15. Previously mentioned in the Discord app... KVIA will soon no longer have its Casa but will have a Valle. Estela Casas will not only leave KVIA but also television news entirely at the end of the year. Stephanie Valle, KVIA's 18-year(!) veteran, will take her place on weeknights at 5:00, 6:00 and 10:00 p.m. https://kvia.com/health/2019/11/06/abc-7s-estela-casas-to-become-head-of-university-medical-center-foundation/
