  1. Good old WNEP. For all of the love the music gets across Northeastern and ALL of Central Pennsylvania... They still get the callers who can't stand when the lottery numbers come on...

  2. The announcement of Rick as new 11pm anchor was mentioned at the end of the 10pm earlier tonight. I'm very happy for Rick, and he's very deserving as Jim's successor. Now, I'm very curious about who'll succeed him at 10pm.

  3. Honestly surprised they didn’t go with co-anchors. Sharrie is already in studio for the 10pm, and the two anchor their other broadcasts together.

  5. On the international front, here's a lucky find: a 1996 bulletin from defunct Turkish TV channel Has Bilgi Birikim (the country's fourth private TV channel, operational from 1992 to 2000), featuring Alan Hawkshaw's "Best Endeavours":

  6. Can we seriously stop with the guessing if she’s the permanent traffic anchor. Let’s wait until an official announcement is made before jumping to conclusions. Also for the record they also used the @Traffic4NY handle for Lauren as well.

  8. Adelle was back this morning. They use @AdelleCaballero on her lower third. They use @TRAFFIC4NY when Emily West is on.

  11. He addressed the possibility of the lawsuit in a podcast back in November. He said he along with his agent (Joel Weisman) and his brother were going to take it to court. Mark also added that WLS kept a LOG of Burton’s complaints to management on not only him but other anchors and reporters claiming she felt she was being dissed.

  12. What has she ever done to justify being fired? I have said before and will say again, what is it that some people have against her? She may not be the 'greatest anchor that has ever lived', she is hardly the worse that has (or will ever) grace the Chicago airwaves. Her and Alan have good chemistry and on a personal level; she was very nice the two times I met her (which is often not the case with meeting news people). It's fair to debate the way she presents the news and such, but outside of that, there's zero reason to dog her as many often do for no reason.

  13. I'm not going to lie, part of me was hoping they'd adopt the Sixeme Son "oohs and ahhhs" just to watch the world burn.

  14. If anyone ever thought combining that god-awful C-Clarity with the WNEP National Anthem was possible.... You're welcome. mctyw tegna_mixdown.mp4

  15. The morning weather when Snedeker is on makes a graphic artist like myself CRINGE. The 7-Day looks slapped together by a 5 year old. Nothing in-line, differing fonts, the boxes just put wherever. Not to mention, in the AM and Noon, Temperatures for all days are displayed "High/Low", but in all other dayparts, it's "Low/High". Why? I realize WNEP can get away with most anything it seems in the TEGNA empire, but my god, I wonder if anyone at corporate pays attention to their broadcasts.
