  1. Why did the morning show "sit in a living room" kind of atmosphere ever go away?

  3. Yeah, I'm guessing that it just doesn't make sense to have a set with a bunch of unnecessary clutter, like they had in the living room looks. It worked then, but it just doesn't translate now, especially all the fake plants. I also bet it wouldn't have looked too good in HD. The set that GMA debuted when they went HD took away a lot of the excess stuff, and I do think this still looks pretty handsome. That said, the thing I'm missing in morning TV, these days, is a bit of warmth, which this 2005 set had, along with texture and depth.

  4. Good Morning America revamp (1999). About as homely and middle America as it could get!

  5. I feel the same. The video wall trend doesn't give the homely effect that the old physical living room sets used to.

  9. Based on a walk by the studio tonight, nothing seems to be happening on the first floor and they’ve been using it pretty fully so I imagine this project is limited to the second floor for now. Also never realized the series of doors behind the back wall of screens. Several of them were opened tonight to production rooms and storage areas including the old kitchen set that was used during the Josh Elliott years.

  12. I know why - because neither stations' opens were done by Gray's hub and it's very obvious. Almost anybody can design and animate stuff better than the Gray hub.

  14. As much as I'd root for a new theme to come with it, every theme they've had since they dumped the wonderful '09 version has been a downgrade.

  16. Could Nexstar move him back to WGN or put him on any of their stations? Perhaps they should start airing reruns of It's Garry Shandling's Show. I would watch that.
