  1. HEADLINE: CBS2 HAS A GOOD RELATIONSHIP WITH A FORMER ANCHOR Yes, you read that right. She'll be filing reports for the station, throughout the next week's ceremonies.

  2. Since the 12th, WCBS promos have been emphasizing the nomenclature "CBS News New York", as indicated below.

  3. WPLG has an hour-long 3pm newscast.

  4. Nope. And to think KCBS and KABC also has had weekday morning anchor turnover in the past year, and they were resolved a lot quicker.

  5. I agree, but my guess is that she may have been working without a contract...hence the continued negotiations with KTLA. Lynette probably had her agent see if anything else was out there for her since she was most likely tired of weekends, even though her show is highly rated. I doubt Jessica, Megan and Lu are leaving anytime soon. When the KNBC deal came up, since she was working at KTLA without a contract (presumably) they cut her loose. TV News is an ice cold business. No allegiances, even to someone who gave nearly a quarter century of their life. Seems like a very Nexstar move. May have not happened under Tribune.

  7. KUSA doesn't brand it's cut in's any differently than a regular newscast normal graphics too. (they haven't had an announcer in quite some time open a newscast *2 years*)

  8. The standard O&O look. Although WKYC (Tegna) models their cut-ins after the Daily brand.

  9. Yes. There are opt-out periods around those times during the show where affiliates can do cut-ins.

  10. Correct me if I'm wrong but are three pm newscast really a thing outside the ATL market on the east coast?
    1 point
  11. That's my understanding: the 3 pm newscast is only through the election. But if it catches on, Channel 2 will be facing a decision regarding whether to keep the newscast and what to do with Tamron Hall. At any rate. the timeslot winner at 3 is on WAGA: Judge Judy.

  12. Come to think of it, did KNBC ever officially replace Daniella Guzman after all these months?

  13. I'm going off of another site that claims the 3pm is temporary only through the election. Something in that other sites words as a "money grab"...

  14. This is pretty standard in businesses all over the world. If you leave for a direct competitor, you’re typically terminated immediately.

  15. Not bad for a temporary set? That is better than most *PERMANENT* sets!

  16. WSB & WAGA are both a legacy station.

  17. KFMB can do some minor tweaks here and there. They have the cheap KCNC look. The Tegna Graphics sure don’t match with the studio. KGTV seriously needs a makeover and new flooring. KUSI is a lost cause. Their FB past and present employees group page already has been begging for a new set and new roof since it leaks near the desk when it rains.

  18. Jim did great as interim 11am anchor years back! So he’s a perfect match!

  19. Well, it's Jim Williams and Marie Saavedra as the new 11am team.

  20. I've aired my grievance before about Brenda Blackmon and Kaity, and I'll say something similar about Muller. It's a disappointment that his tenure in the evenings didn't last (while Tamsen Fadal's still there) and that he was pushed off to weekends (and she wasn't). They should've kept John on weekdays and demoted her. I previously found Tamsen an okay anchor, but now I must ask... What do they see in her? Why is she still where she is? And what is so important about her that the execs insist she's their main face of their news op -- when better is right in front of them? Does she have an ironclad contract or something?

  21. He probably should’ve stayed with ABC, who knew they would d him like that. What’s worse is that when he rejoined they beat FOX 5 and NBC4 they even brought a truck to brag about it.

  22. John should've never left 6 and 10pm. The station has gone downhill since October 2010 when Kaity and Jim were demoted in favor of a solo anchor being Jodi Applegate herself. Since then, the station has been suffering through a lot of changes that were not necessary. When John rejoined in 2014, rating started to increase beating WNBC and WNYW.

  23. I've just learned that WSB has started a 3 PM newscast, which will run at least through the election. Tamron Hall has occupied that slot and I'm not sure what happens to her show in Atlanta now; she's airing at 1:35 AM at present.

  24. Sounds simple enough to me. Now let's mass market it everywhere even though it'll be a rating's flop and reformat it several times before annexing the whole thing in less than a decade!

  25. And today as well. Danny Freeman handled the 11am yesterday. On a related note, Bill must be losing it. Yesterday he referred to Katie (who was filling in for Sheila) as Sheila. Today he referred to Frances as Rosemary.
